for the quest you have to try the oculus dash killer, which goes around the oculus api to have only steamvr and you can always revert to the oculus api which is great, and it gave me a major boost to the fps...

You should probably try to run these tests in a career mission ... or in one of the scripted campaigns. On my system, flying in a full quick mission (2x8 planes, some ground vehicles), things run about as smoothly as on yours (although I only have a Rift-S at 150% SS and an RTX 3070, but then again, my card doesn't have to push as many pixels with the Rift.. :) ). But career missions are rife with stutters and FPS-drops for some reason. It's usually when the fighting starts and folks have suggested it's got something to do with the game spawning in new AI planes. And it seems I'm not the only one who's experienced this - other users with more powerful GPUs than mine have also reported this.

When starting the game, why does the cursor only work for a few seconds every minute or two?

Quite some time since you shared the video but I have a question regarding the Quest 2. I was wondering what your frame times were inside the Oculus using the debug tool. Did they match what your showing on screen? I've got a 3080/5800x3D and my frame times are around 40+ in the debug tool. I don't understand how your frame times are so low? What I do hate about Il2-BoS and DCS is the big amount of shimmer when using VR. I did tweak every related setting and used every info I could get from forums. Finally this huge amount of shimmer did me to decide to delete these two games from my SSD. While on the other hand, on most racesims there is nearly zero shimmer.

What is the tool in the video which can show fps directly?

I think with openXR you can get even more fps. Maybe like 20-30% more, have to try it in il2 tho! But in racing sims it makes a pretty big difference.

I've got a screen flickering when running in VR mode and that's so annoying. I don't know what's the problem. I use RTX5700

What software did you use to benchmark?

You didnt offer any opinion about what headset was better. You just said they were both decent.

The render resolution has nothing to do with the engine of the game. It's the most taxing setting you can have on any game, with whatever engine.
