Things that have happened to me in a cockpit. I have lost GPS due to Wi-Fi/Bluetooth not functioning correctly (I fixed this with a reboot). I have also lost tablet (android) and iphone use due to heat (in both cases I had to wait for the units to cool down), so while they are brilliant devices they are not infallible. I would suggest that you should have at least one or two instruments that work off a simpler system. Possibly ASI and altimeter? You can even get this in one instrument in many cases.

Yes! You are totally correct. Luckily I haven't had my Ipad overheat or disconnect yet... I have had the GPS lose satellite connection, but that was due to bad antenna placement. I usually have both my phone and ipad connected to have a backup. But I should be receiving the iLevil AP (auto pilot) unit in the coming week and have a solution to the backup. Stay tuned! 😊

Wow this is sick! And you can watch movies while on a trip. If I wasn’t going to fly IFR this would’ve been perfect for me.

@@About2Stall likely not in the way I would like it. I don’t even know if it would be legal nevertheless you would have to have an IFR Garman navigator and I would want that to link up with the iPad and populate my navigation that’s where I don’t think they would work together.

Yeah, the nice thing about this platform though is that bringing in features like that is significantly easier than "traditional" Efis solutions... So who knows it might be available sometime in the future?

Another Great video! I noticed some vortex Generators on your wings, Have you finished your experiments and decided on placement locations? Any information would be much appreciated, I have an Avid Heavy Hauler and was going to follow your lay out detailed in the kitfox vid. but if you have specific suggestions for the Avid that would be even better. Thanks Mark! Still busy with the testing, initial placement similar to our KF7 placement got about 5mph improvement without the Wingfences. So still need to install the fences and try a few more placements... But will keep you updated 😉

I saw your video of the 3aw and I'm interested in buying one. I was wondering if you could do the installation yourself, how complicated is it? I would like to buy 3 units, one is for an A600 Talon ultralight helicopter. The others are for a speed card and a bonanza. They provide support or guidance on installation and calibration. how did you do it?. Thanks.

Hi Elias! It's really easy to install and all the info needed is in the manuals that are available on their website. They also provide pre-wired wiring harness as an option. Hope this helps?

Is it not possible to install the unit in any attitude it happens to fit, level the plane and tell the unit to calibrate it's new level position, like some others do?

It could very well be possible, however the install guide says that for best results you should try and mount it forward facing and level with flight attitude... So that's why I went the route that I did

This is a great looking product and I hope it scares the crap out of Garmin, Dynon, Avidyne and all their competitors. There is no reason it should cost north of $50k to convert steam gauges to WAAS GPS and digital flight instruments.

iLevel really wasted a pile of money for this review. I'm looking for something like this and could not get any substantive information on this video. This is a very annoying frustrating video that deserves a Thumbs down as a waste of time.
