Dump Rake and Discing with Haflinger Horses

7 жыл бұрынSome clips of our newly restored dump rake in use for the first time after restoration, as well as our disc, used to till and shape the permanent raised beds. Beds are 5' center to center. Filmed at The Pfeiffer Center during the summer of 2014. Eva and Captain are the haflingers, driven by Mac Mead.

One of my Grandfathers plough horses was called Captain as well when Dad was growing up. Thank you for posting this stuff.

First field job I had on the farm was raking hay with a dump rake pulled by a team of Percheron geldings average age 18. I though I was boss but id Dad had figured out how to get the horses to trigger the dump I would have been out of a job, Pat and Mike knew the routine and took their rest breaks at the end of each trip down the field before turning on their own for the trip back... much to my frustration Ahh the memories
