This dude can fold a blanket like nobody I have ever seen before! Sleeping on those wooden boards does seem like a very slight step up from sleeping on gravel, cement, ceramic tiles, or lava, so I think this really shows some potential!

When I was about 16, 34 years ago, my best friend and I did almost the exact same thing. But we turned to crates to face outside for storage and placed plywood over top. The craftsmanship here is much better than ours. We even used crates to hold speakers. Use a soldering iron with a cutting head to cut holes for them

Mannnn, back in the 70's we made Go-Karts out of 2 x 4's, milk cartons and the front and back wheels of shopping carts, ppl used to roll their groceries home in!!!

I'm confused. In this part of the US, pallets are generally free for the taking, but not always. It's always better to ask to avoid possible arrest. Plastic crates are NEVER free here. Those who take them are stealing.

It is much more practical to tie the boxes with plastic ties, that way you do not spend so much wood and you can easily disassemble it when you want to move it to another place ...;)
@jacal420

Bingo. Love the general idea but I thought it had several flaws. The base is basically unnecessary other than for aesthetic reasons. Center space could also be used for a larger storage area. And cant for the life of me figure out why one end is raised an inch or so or at least it seems to me. Perhaps I missed something
@sayeedharem4673
@sayeedharem4673 Жыл бұрын
@@jacal420 necessity is the mother of invention and nature always provides That's the goal of true recycling .you use what's readily available or to hand . Obviously if your in the country your lucky to find unused crates of a similar size .Wooden planks are more easy to source . I also think if it wasn't a bed for human then the zip tie idea is totally impractical .Cause we move around alot during slumber and even metal screws eventually loosen . Anyway .
@labyrinth.labyrinthos
@labyrinth.labyrinthos Жыл бұрын
Because those boxes are plastic, I’m assuming they’re incredibly flimsy. Meaning they truly do need all that wooden reinforcement. If they only used wood on the base/sideboards then the plastic would sag under the weight of the wood, the bed, and the people. For my bed storage build I used cinderblocks, and although it was a pain to carry each one out by the end of my lease- it was incredibly sturdy, stayed relatively clean and added an industrial touch.

He shares his ideas with people across the world. Sure, not all his ideas will work for everyone but surely each idea of his seems to be working for at least some people somewhere all of the time. That's the reason, he has so many views and subscribers. This idea too is no different, several will think rats, water, dust could go through the storage (and they are right).....but there would be millions who don't live under those threats. More importantly, I think he is just trying to get people to keep thinking differently all the time....that's what all his videos are about....
