the slats will loosen and fall off one by one.he should have cut grooves in slat ends and frame.that would make the slats last forever

Absolutly true, another solution is headless nails at both ends of the slabs . Those nails will then be pressed into the frame when all is put together . As for the video above, one can eventually shoot small nails ( airgun) into the side of the frame and thus fixing the slabs after or during the glueing proces .

The only tip here, is to not do as this guy does in regards to complete lack of safety. Like others have said, I am shocked that he still has his fingers. This is some scary s***t. Don't try this at home kids.

I agree about the fingers. Please what did you truly learn? In the beginning he was just taking the rough part of the lumber and what was he measuring…. Its a great demo on how not to use a table saw safely. When i saw i love woodworking i thought he’d like us ti love it to. Now i know he knows how to operate his equipment and build a FIXED shutter. I could follow and do the same but…. I didn’t really learn anything i didn’t already know. He’s not sharing love, knowledge etc. I didnt intend to be so harsh but i just didn’t feel he cares if anyone walked away feeling better about their own abilities.

OK, this was an interesting video. . . In a bad way. The work was imprecise. The safety measures were grossly lacking. If this is his preferred manner of working I'd not let him touch a thing in my shop. You can get by with that kind of stuff for years with all your fingers still intact, but a large part of the reason is luck. He was also a set-up for kickback. His jointing was done poorly. His thickness planer was spewing chips/shavings and sawdust all over the place (bad for clean-up and for the lungs). In the end the fit wasn't actually very good either. But it was fast!

On the other hand, these guys probably get paid per month what you get per day, just so people can buy cheap furniture they can swap over in a year or two. All this with scant regard for their health or safety from either their employers or the end users. But maybe you’re right & they’re just rushing through their projects, cutting corners & risking their extremities for no particular reason.

Cordialement

...so just clear-coat over all the exposed glue holding the slats?? I say the mentioned comment about grooving for the slats to be a much better way to keep the slats secured and there's really no need for the nails at all. However, it is a quick way to build an inexpensive slatted door very quickly.

My ONLY QUESTION was whether the slats set against nails were meant to stay straight up or purposefully angle d by going then from base of one to top of adjacent.... I think that its a better look for probably more privacy anyway

I have to agree with most other commenters. No safety, not a good build, not very precise, spraying over hardware, etc. etc. It's a lazy build. However, there is a good side to this. He is using old reclaimed wood. I guess the cabinet overall made out of "pallet wood" can be a good thing. It might not last that long with the way it is made, some one will be picking up those slats at some point in time and it will probably fall apart, but I suppose it is useable for someone who cannot afford anything better. The title is click bait though.

Every once in a while I’d end up watching one of this guy’s vids, with a sense of cringe and sick fascination. Not sure what creeps me out the most - his work practices, the fact that the working environment looks like a 3rd world country sweat shop or his end products. I mean sure, he gets ‘er done but: freehanding on a table saw, really ?? Eyeballing most of your work ? Using a rotary sander for finishing wood ? And then there’s the end result which will barely pass the 50 ft check but upon a close look just screams IDGAF. This isn’t woodworking, this is a very low grade carpentry.
