I agree but I will say she does make up a lot of LW's weaknesses in terms of solo play (as a LW main). I always feel LW pairs with Supports that have better "initiation" capability so I think he really compliments her and vice versa well.

The solo healing isn't that bad as long as illari makes up for it with damage, imo lifeweaver kind of enables other supports to focus more on dealing damage to support the rest of the team that way instead of healing. I'm mainly thinking this because of his really high healing potential when he's being played by a good lifeweaver main

@@thierrymazango3544This is pretty much how I play him. Or pair him with mercy because the healing + res + 16 sec lifegrip, kept my team alive a lot longer than the enemies. Now tree of life gives overhealth and can’t be blinked away by sombra? GGs

Why would anyone main lifeweaver

im a healing main so its taking me some time to get used to her cool down timing and the "Rhythm" of her shooting and general gameplay, once those are down I'll be able to heal better but right now my healing is not great with her yet 😅

lifeweaver is still useless, you either have to play pure healbot all game and hold right click all game or you play a different role and get yanked out of fights you want to be in and then wait four years for lifeweaver to charge his healing which gets removed the second he heals you because it takes him so long to charge and his quick heal spam does nothing useful unlike mercy. I'm sorry but even with all the buffs and as a support main, he's still useless and when I see he's the other support I instantly know I have to do everything as they always come out with less heals

@@josh6689 I love playing LW, when I play him I routinely get the highest heals and I still get a couple of kills and contribute damage. Sucks you've been having a bad time with him though, some characters kits just don't work well with certain kinds of play styles, I'm sure the way you play support is different from how I play so it makes sense.

@@Shadowcat31 any kills as lifeweaver as just from getting a tiny bit of damage and the team killing them, I've never seen a single lifeweaver get an actual kill themselves. If I play pure healbot as lifeweaver then yeah I can out heal the other support but I don't want to just hold right click all game

@@josh6689 sorry that's been your experience, I have managed to get kills on my own as LW I've even had to duel people alone as LW and managed to get the kill. That's not the point I wanna make though. Since they reduced his spread he's actually pretty good at suppressing long range heroes, you might not get the kill but that sniper isn't going to be able to stay still very long, and sometimes as support it's not always about getting the kill, it is useful to get kills sometimes but sometimes it's about making it easier for DPS to do Thier jobs, making it easier for tanks to take and keep space. In those cases LW is great, he is great at SUPPORTING not at killing, that's the DPSs job. BUT that's just my opinion and how I like to play the game. Your experience might be very different from mine and that's ok, LW doesn't work for you but it does work for me and those two things can be true at the same time. I guess I'm just trying to encourage you to look at from a different perspective and maybe you might like him but if you still hate him so be it! I hope Illari works out for you though, she sounds right up your alley ☺️

i think her pylon might need a bit of nerfing, i like her being more dps heavy but the pylon healing at 50 hp/s, almost the same rate as mercy is insane considering she also has secondary fire and can deal damage while it heals for her

I feel her main heal should be lowered if anything. I think giving a lot of her strength in a destroyable heal while maintaing a high DPS, her primary heal being reduced to compensate that seems fair to me.@@TheTipTop03

So supports are just toddlers now with no skill that have to babysat by a tank if they dont have a character that can press E and nullify half the roster. Mobility burst damage self sustain, all on the same characters, this game is bceoming support watch. Not a single one of these DLC.characters has a niche. They are cool looking and fun to play but how about to play against? The only heros with actual specializations anymore are ones that came out 5-6 years ago. We need to not power creep supports. In like 3 or 4 seasons the sustain comps possible with advanced mechanics and tech applied to some of these characters could potentially create another meta comp similar to goats. Numerically, primary fires healing numbers cooldowns etc just so many that are soo strong now support has more carry tools than anyone else. Bap is just soldier that can heal and with better mobility, kiri has fcking mei icicles she can spam at headlevel while being similarly sized to tracer with 200hp and better immo and a teleport.... need i go on??? I like these characters and i want support to be fun but as of rn they truly have the potential to fck this game up longterm.

@@cbaileychampi do not care enough to read all of that bc who would, but i will say wtf are you talking about with autonomous healing zenyatta presses harmony a single time and it heals until they leave his sight, illari presses shift a single time and it heals until it breaks, mercy presses left click a single time and it heals until they leave her range, brig and lucio literally heal everyone around them... that doesn't mean any of these characters, which many have been around since the start of the game, are "just toddlers now with no skill" mercy still has to manage flight while she automatically heals, zen has to manage doing poke damage and discord orb, illari has to manage doing poke damage and moving her turret up to support the team as the fight progresses and moves, brig has to manage peeling for her team and helping them stay safe, lucio has to manage speed boost usage while wallriding and contributing to picks, etc people who say the support role is ONLY healing are the dumbest overwatch players lmao

Ana can't two-tap squishies. Before the nerf she 3-tapped them and now she still does (except for Tracer, the only case where the nerf does matter a lot).

Yes, and sigma vortex, zarya can bubble to cleanse, genji can deflect, she can be slept, hacked, rocked, punched and kiriko can cleanse her entire ult.

It does go through shields though.

The pylon is where all her healing comes from, it needs nerfing, the secondary fire is actually kinda meh on its own.

her pylon needs a heal nerf, needs to last only 15 seconds before breaking and not regen health. Her sunstroke, needs to not slow you down so much, not go through shields, not blow you up when your sunstroke teammates is behind a wall Her dodge/pushback needs to have a longer regen time, atm it's getting spammed like every 3 seconds making her impossible to kill half the time especially if the pylon is out of sight

@edmgclone9580 blizzworld can be horrible, tight chokes, disgusting off angles. I've had similar issue with a great hanzo on that map as well. any off angle flanker can f u up badly on that map. u have to just be really organised, literally 4 or 5 on 1 of theirs to ensure to get the kill. get the numbers advantage then push through.

Still not sure with many other maps. Pylon isn't that nice to fight. Feels so much cheaper than any support ability. Even regen burst or any imortality still.

These support players are baby so hard in ow 2 it’s insane. Blizzard really on the ball with these heroes.. one that was so trash tied they had to buff his whole kit 3-4 times and release a dps support that u have to shoot the pylon before even attempting to kill the team. Great fucking job blizzard.

@@trueflood323 as a support main, I have to admit even now lifeweaver is utterly useless as anything other than a pure healbot and illari is just op as shit and the pylon shouldn't be immortal unless killed, it should only last 15 seconds then take 20secs to recharge. Kiriko is the only useful new support added that isn't currently either busted or useless. Her dps is strong but you have to hit the headshots, her cleanse is strong but takes a long time to recharge, her jump is good but has a decent cooldown leaving you vulnerable. Illari its just, slap pylon behind a wall and play dps all game. Lifeweaver is hold right click all game and do nothing else because you can't do anything else XD

Not all supports need to have a healing/'buffing allies' ultimate... I love that they created a super agressive support. I agree she needs nerfs (especially increasing the ultimate cost), but its nice to have different styles of gameplay in each role.

Her ult helps the team by helping them blow up enemies

If you think her ult "wipes out" easily, you haven't used it. it requires a lot of coordination to actually get use, often you hit stuff and just one or two enemies will have the explosion triggered. It's more for scattering the enemies; spread out or else, not just instant damage, thus making it fitting of support. Calling it a DPS ult isn't out of line, but it isn't completely unfitting of a support Ult

Lw main here.....he isn't cheeks if you're good with him he can low-key carry with pure heals alone, however his damage is heavily lacking imo, barely enough to defend yourself not enough to apply pressure. His petal platform is still only useful as an escape for him and provides zero utility for the team. Life grip.....is just good, his best ability, would be nice if it got a cleanse but it's alright rn. Tree of life feels so good with its over health and can actually keep people alive and has officially become a good ult to use to apply pressure and keep a fight tempo. So basically he is decent rn, a solid B tier support

He's still bad. Before this update he was at a 45% win rate which was the lowest win rate I've ever seen for any hero in years of OW. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up around a 48% win rate with a pick rate that doesn't improve as this season goes on. His damage is pretty low, spread reduction was decent towards helping him feel like he can at least defend himself tho. His healing is actually pretty low, but because it's an auto-locking heal, and he doesn't have any other utility that really contributes to the fight, often heal botting w/him to build your ult is the best choice. This tends to result in LWs having highest heals in the lobby which can be deceptive and make you feel like his heal output is higher than it is. His ult is actually decent now, It's in line with other Support ults, think beat and rally. Support ultimates are typically stronger than other roles ultimates because it's how they swing fights and where their skill gap heavily lies. The issue w/ LW is he doesn't actually bring anything to a team that another support doesn't. Think of in game scenarios, where a tank is in a fight and is low hp, A LW just grips him out and all of a sudden a lot of space that was taken is now lost, assuming your team knows how to position grip is typically a bad ability. In contrast an Ana would just nade and burst heal the tank, a Kiri would cleanse to give herself time to heal the tank, Zen would discord targets and pressure enemies to relieve the tank, Bap has burst heal from his shift + immort, etc. LW's one main ability is often contradictory to the goal of the team, of pressuring/taking space/diving targets. Even in GM lobbies where you'd expect to see some sort of coordination it doesn't get used very well, maybe in contenders or OWL level it'd fair better but w/OWL going under ig we'll never know.

Nah illari is strong but i think she is fine, maybe nerf the pylon. But as a tracer main, lw + mercy sucks so hard, truly nothing dies and the tree last for very long time and is so easy to charge.

Hes viable. Still not S tier. I would rather play him at high rank than lower because people just know how to position correctly and that allows his kit to be utilized properly. If you’re wasting pulls on gold players being out of position for no reason then his pull becomes weaker the lower rank you go. I have been having lots of success in high masters rn with him.
