There is a lesson that they don't teach you growing up that I've found invaluable: Just because you're popular and can make money doesn't mean you're inherently creative or talented. A hustle isn't art, it's a scam like a carnival show. Look for the people in skateboarding who can't stop creating art regardless of the spotlight being on them. It's there you'll find true interesting humans.

the problem is Illegal Civ worked when it was an amateur indie brand where it just felt like a bunch of random kids in LA skating and doing dumb shit with minor celebrity cameos. now they are trying to be this big ass skate brand now and it just comes off as really cringe. especially when Mikey is so pretentious and acts like he is the creative force behind Illegal Civ when in reality its only big because of Odd Future and the skaters themselves
