*Castle* is a special move in chess where you move your king laterally either side of the queen or side of the king by 3 steps and you place your rook after beside the king. There are 4 exceptions when the king cannot castle: 1. The king moved before castling. 2. The king is in check (check means some piece is threatening to take something, which in this case is the king being threatened to be eaten or taken) 3. The king's path is being controlled/visioned by the enemy. (in simpler terms, the king can be ambushed/eaten along the way which is illegal) 4. The rook has moved before castling.

Just to resfresh the memories: all the squares between the king and the rook you intend to use for castling need to be empty. And you cannot castle if... 1) You already have moved your king 2) You already have moved the rook you intend to use for castling 3) Your king is checked 4) There's any enemy piece threatening a square your king needs to pass through or end up in order to castle.

At the end, after the illegal move, Pragg makes a 2nd one, as he moved the Rook instead of the King. If he illegally castled, the next move is supposed to be with the King. 2 illegal moves = lost. Mediocrity is the word that defines the arbiters involved.

Correct.. but that touch-and-move illegal move has to be claimed by the opponent. Some opponents ignore that.

@@dmaxpr they can't, opponent has to claim it.. some opponent leave it because of sportsmanship. I do the same, I ignore these first-touches on my games. Pragg only touched King because he was castling, but he couldn't castle so he played something else. It's not like he wanted to play King and then changed his mind.

It happens when you play manually. there's a lot of pressure. while in online chess game the code logic doesn't allow you doing this castle once you move the King.

Lol I had a similar kind of illegal move experience in a tournament whoch got unnoticed . I was playing black against a very strong opponent . In the middle game I had a pawn on e4 and my opponent had played a move pawn f3 to f4 and he left the board to roam around . After thinking for a while I dont know what got into me but I actually played exf3 en passant (😂😂) . Surprising fact my opponent also did not notice this and that move opened up good counter attacking opportunities for me and ultimately I won in endagme . Later on while analysing through computer I saw that exf3 was not being allowed , then i realized that the pawn was already on f3 and hence en passant was not possible 😅 😂😂😂 What an experience to be remembered !!!!
