I loved this video. Recently I have been listening to the Gospels on my way to work. Some of the questions I had about the High priests were answered in this video. In a way we all behave like the high Priests,

11 A.D. Mr. Shoeman, you say that the Jewish religious leaders are no longer permitted to carry out the death penalty. You quoted the bible showing that this would mean the Messiah had come. When Jesus was 12 years old He was in the temple for three days after Pasch/passover, talking with the Temple elders. These elders would have been (some?) of the Same men who would have been upset about the ending of the death penalty and some May have also been at Jesus' crucifixion, yes? Nicodemas and Joseph of Arimathea were perhaps two of these men.

Love your videos Roy, you got the story of Susanna and the elders slightly wrong though. The elders claimed that they saw her in the act of adultery with someone else, they get the trees wrong under which they claim Susanna was commiting adultery. They are then put to death instead of her.

If Jesus was 12 during. Pasch/Passover, He was actually 13, counting the time in the womb of Mary. Would the age of 12 or 13 be significant at that time in Jewish life (like today's bar mitzvah)? Thank you.

+Susan McGuinness I have heard some say that Jesus was in Jerusalem for his Bar Mitzvah; I have not looked into the evidence for and against that theory, so cannot really speak to it. I probably should look into it! It is an interesting thought about whether Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimethea might have been there.

Enjoyed your video...my understanding is that the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus' army in 70 AD...was your reference to Christian's being banned from Jewish worship around 130 AD, a reference to synagogue worship? Just curious. Overall, a very good video.

Although the Temple was destroyed about 70AD by Titus, there were still Jews in Jerusalem and environs until the Bar Kochba revolt, about 130AD. That's when they were banished for good (or at least till the end of the Roman Empire).

Salvation is from the Jews So they did Temple-style worship without the Temple, correct?

Sorry, I misunderstood your first question. No, there was no Temple-style worship (sacrifice) without the Temple. The Christian Jews were banned from the synagogue for their failure to follow Bar Kochba into revolt.

the sadducees were the ones who had the most to loose and did not believe in resurrection messiah miracles and oral law ect... the masses followed the pharisee jesus was a pharisee...
