I am going to sound like a her here but a long time ago a guy called Herschel got a triangular prism and a ray of light making a rainbow. He put a thermometer at the end of each colour. Red being the warmest and violet being the coldest. He thought that by putting a thermometer beside red the thermometer would show coldness however it was warmer. This is how he found infrared and this is why bunny felt warmth :) sorry if I bored you!

I don't think that that's a thing... this product is environmentally irresponsible and the company is downright crooked for making that claim. I used the acne illumask about 7 months ago and stopped because they got pricey buying them every month. I used them for 5 months and there was I noticeable difference after about six weeks. My skin is very acne prone and is sensitive benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid so it was hard to find effective treatments. With this mask I could wash my face in warm water, do the treatment, and wake up the next morning not worrying about new face demons popping up over night. My face became clear and stayed clear. I would give it 10 out of 10. Mine had an eye cut out as well so I could see out of it. It's also great to do just before bed.

The reason you saw green after is because of the link between the red and green cones in your eyes. When you are seeing red for so long and then take away that stimulus your green cones go into effect giving you that "seeing" green illusion. You're fine Bunny :)

Bookstores are declining because of Amazon's crazy low prices. They undercut all the local stores and force them to close. If you love spending time in a bookstore browsing all those pretty covers, you must support them and buy from them whenever you can afford to! Although Amazon is great, it'll eventually take over and ruin that bookstore experience.

Hey Bunny! I think this may ease your mind a little bit about seeing so much green after you took the mask off. There is something called the opponent process theory of color vision. It basically says that the 4 main colors (red, green, blue and yellow) group in pairs on the cells that deal in vision. If you start at something that is one color, and then look away at something blank, like a white wall, you see the opponent color in the pair. Red and green are opponent pairs, so since you had been exposed to so much red light in the mask, when you took it off and looked away, your vision cells were firing for green, because it is the opposite of red. Does that makes sense? It is why the optical illusion of the green, yellow and black version of the American flag works (which you can look up and try by the way!)! I hope that kind of eased your mind a little about seeing all the green! Or you can just think of it as Gator-Vision! ;) Just a little help from a psych major! Love you!

I have both illumask products and got them on clearance at walmart. the one for acne had worked for me surprisingly. I'm really impressed!

I'd get a Kindle if I was going travelling, just so I was able to carry thousands of books with me all the time (like Hermione in the Deathly Hallows). But otherwise I'll always opt for a book. It's just what I'm used to I guess, I don't seem to enjoy e-books as much.

About the weird colors thing: remember those weirdly colored images printed in books with instructions to stare at the image for a while and then look at a white wall, and when you do you see something in the colors you expect for it? It's the same thing here. When you turned it on, the lights were red. Being exposed to one color for a loooong time means that whichever of rods or cones it is in your retina that sense that color get all tuckered out, while those for other colors are still tanned, rested, and ready. After you take the mask off, all the red-sensing cells have to take a well-deserved break but the others are working normally. Result: stuff looks weirdly colored until they recuperate.

You can just buy an infrared lamp from a Tractor Supply store, aka a farm goods store. It's the same lamp used to warm up baby chicks! It's great for sore muscles and joints too. I use mine from time to time but not every day.

It works & I love it. I'm a mature ( over 30, ok over 40, ok over i'm up there) woman ; my biggest concern was the harsh angry lines between my eyebrows. Notable difference after just 30 days. Will purchase another.

I have been trying the eye mask...I have done it for about a week. I seen that there is a little improvement so we will see at the end of 30 days. I use mine at bedtime...lay down and relax for 15 minutes, moisturize and to bed

I saw everything in blue for a couple minutes after my first treatment I did last night. I got this as an impulse buy at Walmart yesterday after a hard day at work and wanting to pamper myself ... and only now checking reviews to see if it works or is a scam. :p The LEDs do not break after 30 days. They advise you to keep the mask and buy a new remote with a new 30 day timer. However you can reset the remote back to 30 days by taking the remote apart and using a simple trick with a spare wire.

Infrared light waves are heat waves. That's probably why it felt warm when you were wearing the mask.

I have the illumask for acne, and I know that one has yellow like safety glasses? and it has it to where you can see through it. But the lights are so bright (they're blue and red) that it kinda doesn't matter. I would put tissues around my eyes to it was easier to see out of. Other wise, the mask really helped for the time I used it

You could get the anti-acne illumask. You got the anti-aging one. There are two different types. One is anti-aging and one is anti-acne. The anti-acne one has a see through thing for your eyes. Just a few comments. The acne treatment illumask is the one that have the eye holes so you can do other things while using it. After 30 days, it's not the led lights that go bad, it's just that they want you to buy a new one. You can actually change the circuit board inside to bypass the timer countdown mechanism. Infrared lights should feel warm because infrared is thermal/electromagnetic radiation.

The reason you were seeing green is because your eyes have been looking at red lights for 15 minutes so your eyes automatically try to re adjust back to balance color by seeing more of the complementary color. so if the lights were blue you'd be seeing orange. It's natural, no need to panic :)

There is another illumask for acne, you can actually see all of the lights--and there is a see through part around the eyes. I purchased one a target the other day. Very surprised by the cheap price but disappointed in having only 30 treatments, but I am hoping for great results!

you can see inferred light through most cameras, to check if your camera sees inferred light, see if you can see a red light coming out of your tv remote through the camera when you press a button

Apparently to use it more than 30 times there is a work-around. From a poster on amazon 1. Change the batteries 2. Use a screwdriver and carefully remove the plastic piece that holds the batteries (the batteries must be in place to reset the mask). Underneath it there is a circuit board. 3. Using a piece of wire (such as a paper clip) touch one end of your wire to place where the thin copper wire connects to the circuit board. Touch the other end to the little RESET copper circle--located on the left of the circuit board (use the copper circle above the word RESET, not below). 4. Press the start button while the wire is in place. 5. Move your wire from the RESET button to the TEST button. 6. Press the start button again while the wire is in place, and the count should say 30 again! The reviews on amazon for acne-use are amazing, they say it does work.

I saw a video once that talked about the same affect the device had on her eyes. If you hold a light of a certain color to your eye for a while, the eye's color receptors get tired of that color. In result, you get an affect quite similar to being colorblind to said color. Since she was staring at red, her eyes mainly saw the opposite: Green. Makes sense.

Not sure if anyone has said this, but I looked at the website and the acne treatment has openings for the eyes and illuninates pink. The anti aging one probably doesn't have open eyes because of eye wrinkles. Just a thought.

If you want to see if the IR LEDs are lighting up, you can point your cell phone camera at them, and view them on the display. That being said, these look like ordinary red LEDs to me.

You should do the Salon Express, I have one an dither works for me but I want to see you try it. You can literally get it for less than $5 on Amazon now.

You should be able to see an infrared light through a phone camera, or a digital camera in general. I remember my science teacher told me to take a TV remote and look at the very top where the sensor is and press any button on the remote while looking at it through your phone camera or digital camera and you can see the infrared light. I guess that could be one way to see if it really works!
