Smart, but extremely arrogant. Like, he might be able to calculate anything, but his "Nah. This little witch can't do anything to stop us" thought prevented him to use his beeg brain to seriously think of the situation. And so, he tried to foolishly threat her with their mightiest weapon, only for her to realize on how to beat them lol. Might be a bad writting, but there are a lot of these cases IRL too. Never underestimate others. You might be smart or powerful. But that doesn't mean others can't beat you.

It's stupid that she didn't do anything until after Reed is already dead, but at least she looks shocked. Cap marvel looks bored, a little frustrated at best. Being a battle hardened soldier does not also require the character to be an emotionless asshole who looks like she doesn't even care that much after 2 of her friends die extremely painful deaths.

@@DiosaDelOscura does it matter? 616 wanda is dreamwalking into 838 wanda. it doesn't matter what happened to 616 wanda, 838 wanda is a completely different person who it seems did not have the darkhold. the darkhold's boost should not impact her power because this is 838 wanda's body and only 616 wanda's consciousness. if you argue she was using darkhold spells, it seems she has to actually read the darkhold to cast spells (since she couldn't dreamwalk when the darkhold was destroyed), and her eyes are closed when she dreamwalks, so that's not really plausible.

When you are in the middle of battle, you wouldn't have time to morn...that comes after. That being said, it looks like they didn't even flinch at their allies dying, maybe they were just too "on the job." Maybe a difference between the Illuminati and Avengers, the Avengers were far closer and cared about one another than just "getting the job done at any cost," which boosts them up to get the job done better ("we don't trade lives"), while the Illuminati "make the hard choices so no one else has to make," fully willing to sacrifice one of their own (this Universe's Dr. Strange). The Illuminati would have (very likely) sacrificed Vision in a heartbeat if it meant that Thanos will never be able to reach his goals, unlike the Avengers.

Every time I see this scene I can't help but be amazed at the lack of ranged accuracy, teamwork, reaction speed, and basic combat copetance of the Illuminati members. Seriously, after Bolt dies only Reed even TRIES to go for a fast attack despite Captain Marvel being RIGHT THERE with far faster and more powerful ranged attacks, then during the like five seconds he's being SHREDDED APPART the two women do NOTHING BUT WATCH, then pause, share a look, and then ATTACK SEPERATLY. Tbf, in the comics the Illuminati wasn’t formed as a combat team like The Avengers.. It was the council made up of the leaders of the big groups with great minds, responsible for making the hard decisions on what to do in dire situations… But yes, the Illuminati members in this particular movie was made up of great combatants, them having lack of teamwork and combat experience just makes no sense..

No. Despite Wanda still being a bit inexperienced, she knows how to handle Captain Marvel and especially Captain Carter. She was great friends with Steve Rogers so she obviously knows what a Vibranium Shield can do, she also knows that Captain Marvel absorbs attacks because the more Captain Marvel absorbs attacks, she can release that absorption to her enemies and use their own attacks against them including her own. If you noticed, Wanda never really attacked 838 Captain Marvel with her own powers. Wanda used objects to attack Captain Marvel and only blocks attacks from her. With Captain Carter on her first attack, Wanda threw Captain Carter's shield away from her so she has time to fight Captain Marvel. When Wanda takes care of Cap Marvel, she now focuses on Cap Carter. Basically, Wanda is too fast at thinking of strategies for the illuminati which results in all of them being killed.

I honestly love this scene Sure, a longer fight scene would have been cool and all, but that wasn't the point This team never suffered a defeat it seems, which means that they never learned any lessons, were never humbled, making them arrogant, complacent in their superiority. Hell, it's gotten to the point where they feel justified in removing Stranges from their universes because he might be a threat Watching Wanda tear apart these arrogant, self-righteous asshats was very satisfying

@@Ne0MT Just want to share some of my opinions - Mr. Fantastic is the smartest man in the world... But only according to them lol. I think they are just arrogant enough to claim that he is the smartest man in the world without any legit test whatsoever. Maybe his IQ is the highest. But being smart isn't all about IQ lol. Look at what's happened to the smartest spaghetti in the world lol - For Captain Marvel, I can see that Scarlet Witch absorbed her power. I think it's pretty fitting NGL. Captain Marvel is too arrogant to think that nobody can rival her power. And so, Scarlet Witch stole her power and in the end, without her power, she must experienced being a powerless nobody and can't stop getting killed by a simple falling statue. She basically got called with "without your power, who are you?" move. And unfortunately, she can't do anything without her super power.

Long story short, Black Bolt learns the hard way that words sometimes speak louder than actions, Mister Fantastic is lucky that Sue Storm is alive in his universe, Captain Marvel finds out she ain’t all that and becomes a more ‘grounded’ individual, Captain Carter finds out in the worst way possible that the best defense really is a good offense and Professor X learns that it isn’t worth sticking your neck out for some people.

When she killed them it was mostly goal oriented. I love the smallest look of contemplation on her face as she killed peggy. To me that was the smallest but of our wanda peeking through and gaining clarity. She was inside of Steve's mind, and knows how deeply in love he was with her and the pain he felt in losing her in so many ways. By the time civil war comes around he has lost peggy three times. In what he believed was his death, in the realization that his life with her could never be because she had lived without him for 75 years, and then her actual death. He experienced losing peggy so much just as she had experienced losing vision, albeit far less horrifically. For her to be the hand that ends the life of anothers love. Not justanyone's, but a good friend who freed her from prison. I believe it was proof that wanda is still there. That's not to say she can be redeemed of her choices, but it proves that the humanity inside of her is still, if only slightly, conflicted. All villains need humanity, and that moment when she killed peggy, was proof that Wanda wasnt all witch.

Eh, considering Peggy is also the one that Steve abandoned a grieving Wanda to be with (with no notification), I doubt Wanda feels that bad. I mean she had no problem killing a version of Strange, trying to kill Strange, attacking a teenager, and so many other crimes why would killing a version of Steve's obsession make her sad? Plus Steve was largely reason she was in prison in the first place, so he wasn't helping her out of the goodness of his heart but to make up for causing her to be put there in first place.

I assumed she saw Peggy as a proxy for Steve. Steve was her friend and probably the main thing that kept her good (perhaps along with Clint). Her reactions to Peggy suggest she was having trouble fighting her as she saw Cap there. Also, props to Hayley Atwell for really channeling Chris, right down to posture.

Not all of them. Xavier, Black Bolt and Mordu were all the same guy. For all we know, Reed Richards was the same guy too. In the case of Peggy and Rambeaux, it was a single small change in the timeline that made them the hero and not the regular Cap and Captain. Xavier, Black Bolt and Mordu were born with their power and Reed Richards was born with the singular intelligence that lead to his power. There wasn't any room for another person to become them.

It wouldn't because Dark P is on a whole other level. Plus if is Jean/Dark Phoenix then there is absolutely no competition. The Phoenix put Jean's mind and telekinesis power on 10,000. Phoenix is a comics entity of cosmic fire that cannot be extinguish because she is the epitome of life reborn and death in the universe. She can disintegrate SW to not exist at all in mere seconds. Chaos magic does not top the ability of the Phoenix. The Phoenix can absorb any energy including magic there is.

This and WandaVision felt like "We got the Fox properties so, let's cement the fact that we won this war by feeding them to our Wanda to get her over as powerful. We'll just rehabilitate the characters later in our own image, but for now we can use them to prop OUR stars up, who are the real stars, not these properties that used to try to compete with us. The whole thing feels very "We won".

I watch pro wrestling and WWE does this shit too. They spent years burying WCW guys to scream "WE WON THE WAR" and it never came off as anything but pathetic. They cared a billion times more than the fans did and it made them seem really, really petty. This scene really is reminiscent of that kind of thought process among executives/creatives "We won. we should use this movie to make fans of those properties feel bad" It's funny because you'll hear two reactions to this scene, and especially the Professor X scene. MCU fans will get bitter and furious if you suggest that this scene wasn't awesome/Wanda isn't the strongest character in all of fiction, and then you have the fans of the fox properties who just kind of go "Alright then, not going to go to the next MCU film if this is how my childhood is going to be treated." One side cares a LOT more than the other and is willing to act smarmy and rude about it on social media, and the other side barely cares and is now, basically forever, signed off of the MCU as a whole because the literal first time the MCU writers had access to these characters they used them for shock horror. I like MCU films, but this scene is REALLY insanely bad for building an audience and not turning people off of your movies forever because you showed them what you think of their favorite characters.

In the moment in the theater, you're shocked that something so brutal is happening in an MCU film, then, but then a couple of hours later after you've seen the film you realize "wow, that sucked. Why did i watch that?". And especially as a fan of the X-Men and a whole bunch of unrepresented comics that could be brought into the MCU as extremely cool concepts and movies in their own right, I now have basically no interest in seeing the MCU's take on the fantastic four, xmen, etc. Their first appearance is will always be tainted by this dogshit fucking film.

Sue Storm actually contained SW's power in comics and her. Her force fields are extremely powerful. SW was also not able to detect Sue's mind when she was invisible meaning she can easily end SW while invisible if she wants.

Curious also, SW killed different versions of these characters who obviously have families. With the whole multiverse and if things don't get reset, I wonder if people will be after SW. We know she isn't dead and will return. I don't even know why they attempted to imply she killed herself. Would Sue be after her for killing Mr Fantastic. Monica after her for killing this version of her mother who she could have seen. Sue is dangerous against SW and Monica powers creates a defense against her magic. I would love to see SW being held accountable because she was reckless and selfish.

all depends on who is writing the story lol, black bolt and the other captain marvel could’ve beaten her for sure! any fan with little knowledge can realize that! wanda is OP tho, and so is Black bolt and Monica rambeau or her mom or what ever lol

I love this scene, it really demonstrates her power, plus we got a funny meme “what mouth?” I think it would have been a better demonstration of power if reed didn’t give Black Bolts power away and Wanda still beats him, but then we would’nt have gotten the “what mouth” meme

I mean if they were actually smart and had good teamwork, then yeah they could've done easily. Professor X sticks his finger out to paralyse Wanda with a psychic attack, Marvel, Carter or Reed punches her out since she's a Glass Cannon who can't take anything more than a regular person without magic shielding (which she'll be too busy getting mindfucked by Xavier to throw up), then Mordo slaps the magic blocker cuffs on her. She's down and contained in about 10 seconds, all it takes is a modicum of thought....which you'd think a smart fellow like Reed or tactician like Carter would be capable of.

One thing I am curious about is, would black bolt have no mouth permanently then? Does the chaos magic work like that? For the hex it didnt seem so, as after wanda shut down the magic, all the changes and creations she had made went back to the state it originally was. So... maybe there might've been a way to reverse the chaos magic?

@@qdllc Uh that's the thing. In the comics his power only triggers when it leaves his mouth so no mouth means no powers but they just decided to change that in the movie and explain it away with different universe different rules.

Wanda Can warp reality on a small scale and on a larger scale. Her hex has capability to surround the whole world
