So if we can make that leap in understanding then we ahould also be able to make the leap that physical viruses have made us who we are today whether we like it or not so the virtual viruses we encounter are going to shift our DNA in ways we have yet to imagine. So if you are not intelligent enough to create a virus that can alter humanity then I hardly see the point in debating it's ethical implications.
