ALL iPhones FIXED: Photo Album & Recently Deleted Album is Empty But Still Taking Up Storage Space

4 жыл бұрынIf you deleted all your photos and videos from your iPhones photo album gallery and the recently deleted album but storage has not decreased then watch this video closely. This will work for all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. Note that on previous iPhones the fix was setting the date and time back one year. However for some reason this time it did not work setting it one year back, instead i had to go three years back and bam...... storage space finally decreased!

This is the first video that truly gave me half of my space back. I’m so grateful and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have been so. Frustrated with iPhone for allowing the phone to lock up data and make you have to buy space. Done with iPhone after this!!!!!!!

I only have 2 images and my photos are taking 9 gb It's been like a year, guys, stop replying to this LOL I've figured out what happened. My old device has like hundreds of photos and my new device shares the data, for some reason those old photos didn't come to my new device, however it still took up storage. It worked! Thank you. I didn’t think it would because I went back three years and there were only like two photos in “recently deleted” that I had deleted yesterday. But I still deleted and turned my iPhone off and then back on and this freed up a ton of storage for me. Thanks!

THANK YOU. Went from 317GB to 25GB 🙏. Quick tip for anyone out there, after you do what he says you may need to wait a bit (couple hours) for the storage to go down drastically. Mine went down in chunks.

This didn't work for me. I set the time back eight years and restarted my phone, and it's exactly the same. Mine looked a little different from yours because it specifically recommends "Save 81 (!) GB of space: Empty Recently Deleted Album" but whenever I empty it, it just comes back. My Recently Deleted album IS empty when you actually look at it, but it pops back in the storage section over and over again as taking up huge amounts of space. iCloud is turned OFF and I've never ever used it. I am running out of space and it's space that's filled with NOTHING. So what can I do? The time thing just didn't work.

Brother Xoli If it didn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean it’s bullshit. Try going to icloud, photos and turn off icloud photos (this will delete all your photos so if you want to keep them, back them up onto ur pc and after turning off icloud photos restore them.)

Had this issue with voice memos - as I was deleting them the occupied space doubled - I changed the date as you mentioned, and from 10GB become 4.2GB - but I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling because I cannot afford to lose4gb when where are 0 files. Thanks for the suggestion

That didn’t work for me but I found another option to fix it. I disabled the “iCloud Photo Library” from the Photos & Camera Settings then the Storage just went free. I hope this helps

this is for those of you who still didn’t get results after doing this so my iphone photo storage became 32gb then i did what was shown in the video! it did clear out but the storage space remained 12gb then i plugged my iphone into my windows(idk whether it’s gonna work for macs but you can try) and then created a folder over a drive (works even if you’ve created it on desktop) then copied all my data into that file and then plug out! you’ll see your iphone storage refreshing!! and goes back to the actual storage! btw it worked for me you can try it out!.. not guaranteed! but it worked for me 2 times nw! also plz delete your recent deleted files in your iphone first

Worked for me! Thank you very much! What I did: Connect my iPhone XR to my Windows laptop and copied my DCIM folders to my desktop. Halfway copying the files to my desktop, my cable was malfunctioning and it stopped the process. So, I went ahead and checked my Photos storage at Settings. It went from 56+GB (bug error display) to 14GB, which is the actual amount of storage I have on my iPhone right now. Thank you!

you can delete in batches like 500 photos at a time or less and then wait for 10-15 seconds for it to be finally gone

This didn't work for me but if you go into Settings-Photos then turn off icloud and everything else off and boom your storage will decrease :) My phone was on 15.9gb of 16gb and this method in the vid didn't work (I tried it 5 times) then I went on photos turned off Icloud and everything else then It went 9.3gb of 16gb btw I am on *IPhone 5s (IOS12)*

I know I’m late but I just had this problem. So this video didn’t work for me, so if it didn’t this might be how to fix it. Sooo mines is mostly taken up by photos. I realized I had a lot of photos so I deleted them, but then it would still say “you have ____ photos.” Even though I had less. I restarted my phone and everything, but it didn’t work. Then I went to my deleted photos which had over 8,000 photos. So what I did was, I deleted them all completely then restarted my phone. It still didn’t work. Then I took a screenshot and went to the recently deleted album and there was only the screenshot, which then I deleted. Now when I check settings my storage is good. I hope this helps! :)

Awesome video. Changing dates alone didn't work for me as my issue was not with photos but with Files App showing 8GB when it was empty and Voice Memo taking 1.04GB when it was also empty. While my date was June 16 2016 I went back into Setting>>General>>iPhone Storage and deleted the offending app Voice Memo and Files App and immediately got my 9GB space back. Put back date to today, restarted the phone, installed Voice Memos and Files App back. All Good!! Thank You Thank You. BTW I had tried all this with current date with no success, so I know the date thing helped. Had been at it for about 3 weeks now.

this didn't work for me but I found another way just back up your phone to your mac or laptop, once the backup is complete your storage will free up :)

Another method - BACK UP iPhone 'TO PC' in iTunes > then put phone into 'RESTORE mode' then 'RESTORE it with the firmware it was ALREADY ON (very important, otherwise you can't restore your old backup. > RESTORE BACKUP. That's it. Your memory is cleared and all your stuff is back on.

I went into my storage, and deleted about 80% of my photos, and when I go into storage, it says that photos are taking up the same amount of storage as BEFORE I deleted a bunch of my photos. I’m so confused, so hopefully this works.
