mamamoo are one of the main reasons I got into kpop again a few years ago. Their recent releases are hit or miss for me but they will always be the queens of live vocals.

The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of early 2023 - Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 115(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 37 credits to her name. She wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey". - Hwasa has 44 credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. Mamamoo has been the vocal gold standard among kpop girl groups for a long time. They debuted in 2014 with the first song in this medley, Mr Ambiguous, which was written for Quincy Jones by the co-CEO of Mamamoo's label RBW. They even performed it for Quincy when he was in Seoul for a concert and when he decided not to use it they recorded it themselves. Yes, they sing and dance and a lot more. They're a 4X4 team of all-stars who are involved in all creative aspects of their career. Moomoos (Mamamoo fans) will tell you that Mamamoo is 4 singers, 4 rappers, 4 dancers, 4 songwriters, 4 choreographers and they often do their own styling and help devise the MV concepts. Each member has a successful solo career too and they were the first group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group was still active as a unit. They finally toured the US earlier this year and joined TLC and Spice Girls as the only girl groups to sell over 70K tickets on their debut US tour. I saw them in NY and Baltimore. There's no guarantee they'll be back and I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to see them twice. Here's some info about things you mentioned or asked about: Starry Night: When Solar (2nd from left) put her hand in front of Moonbyul's face (main rapper on the left) that was a throwback to their prank war during Starry Night promotions on tv music shows in 2018. Moonbyul started it by messing with Solar at a point in the choreo when the audience couldn't see what she did and Solar retaliated when the choreo required her to hold her hand in front of Moonbyul's face briefly while Moonbyul was rapping. Solar was supposed to let Moonbyull pull her hand to the side but she didn't and Moonbyul had to duck under her arm. Every day they found different ways to fuck with each other and it became a running joke. They're best friends btw and are practically inseparable off stage. The other two members (Wheein, 2nd from right, and Hwasa on the far right) have been best friends since middle school. Mamamoo believes they were fated to meet and become bff's and they have several songs about their sisterhood bond. I doubt you've heard Dingga before. Dingga means fool around and have fun. The song was released during the pandemic as Mamamoo's way of cheering us up while we were socially distant. The lyrics and the colorful MV are various fantasies of things they'd like to do with friends of all ages, from eating ice cream and playing children's games to roller skating with friends or partying and getting drunk like a fish. The last song Aya is a breakup song. Aya is the Korean word for Ouch! Each member finds a different way of getting out of the relationship and removing her lingering feelings, which is a painful process. To Hwasa it's like pulling out a rotten tooth. In the MV Hwasa dresses like a dominatrix dentist in black leather and uses a pickaxe to bash away at a mouthful of tombstones with Tooth written on them. lol Hope you check out more Mamamoo, one of the most fascinating, fun and talented groups in kpop.

Four super stars collectively as Mamamoo, and individually as each member has their own very successful solo career. Mamamoo is different than other kpop girl groups. They are women being women, not little girls trying to be sexy or grown women trying to be cute, but women being themselves and effortlessly showing their amazing vocal talents.

Definitely recommend checking out more mamamoo!! They have one of the biggest and best discographies out there. They also choreographed all of their own dances for the first 5 years of their career (everything before gogobebe). Their choreo’s aren’t as intense as others cause they’re a vocal heavy group but their choreo videos are THE BEST. They’re really one of a kind.

Mamamoo is a very vocal focus group probably the best these days but they're still good at dancing but they have less choreo than other groups, recently they started doing more chireo in songs like hip aya dingga gogobebe that were here, they're more like performers if you see other kpop group you might be impressed by their synchronization but they dont really care they really have strong personalities and different style that somehow work well together it makes them a really unique group for kpop

Found out this group through Hwasa. The girl on the right had a popular solo with TWIT. Was likings them, but I MISS YOU was the song that hit and made me love them.

Check out the introduction to them it's not just their voices that make them an absolute fave. Also their solo careers are top tier too. A song A LOT of reactors miss is My Star from them, best imo.

My KPop Group Trifecta... SHInee, Mamamoo, BlackPink. SOLOISTS... IU, and Kim Se-Jeong(who is an Huge IU fan girl LoL), both of whom are Very good actresses as well. Sejeong is the Reason I got into KPop

Check out BTOB killing voice, they are the male version of Mamamoo. Mamamoo leader Solar is good friends w/ Lee Changsub one of the main vocal of BTOB. They even did a colab on her KZfaq channel awhile back. Mamamoo is my fav girl group they are a beast!
