@Banished-rx4ol2 ай бұрын
You don’t need a lot of size to pull a heavy bow, I know a girl 135lb’s or so who pulls 145-155 pound longbows and compound bows. Traditional archery teaches us to “open up” or puff out our chests and engage our entire upper body. Root yourself to the ground and bang you can pull heavy bows. The real issue is accuracy and stamina as I’ve shot a 185lb long bow before but my accuracy really suffered after the 2nd shot. I managed to shoot 5 shots before my arms and back gassed
@mussersbowsboatsandscience66102 ай бұрын
no you don't, Would be nearly impossible for the 135 pound girl to even pull a 70 pound compound. Pulling a recurve a little ways would be no where near the 145 pounds. Granted I have seen average looking people pulling war bows is some fashion
@1990hondacivic2 ай бұрын
I agree with it being more technique based, but if it were a compound bow, the full draw would be nearly impossible unless there were some stuff to assist the draw weight

Bro's ripped 💪I'm keen to see the 200lb draw but sadly 200lb pull down with a 2:1 isn't 200lbs nor is it REALLY a reasonable replication of a 200lb draw :( However it is great endurance/strength building to leading up, scaps, traps and rhomboids are also KEY not ill lat. Bro didn't have to flex on us like that 🥺 Not a dig, nor hatin 😅 (Reference: me;Archer, PT)

According to the videos ive seen to pull a 200lb bow takes a good stance and technique that requires your back muscles. You have to stick your butt out like you're doing a vitical squat.

May want to pull slow and squeeze then go back down slowly controlling the weight lol .. throwing your body into it is kinda pointless esp bc you're not pulling a bow back like that what so ever
