The character Thea Ransome is played by Wanda Ventham, who is Benedict Cumberbatch's Mum.

Basically my reaction on my first watch, icl. This one in particular really benefits from rewatches...

A fair analysis, as it does take a few goes to fully appreciate it. It's certainly true that the Fehdahl - pronounced 'fen-darl' - look somewhat dubious (trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet), the overall idea of them is sound. What does sell this though is the rural setting, and characters such as Martha Tyler being an absolute joy to watch. Also, as others have pointed out, Wanda Ventham is the mother of Benedict Cumberbatch, and actually played Sherlock's mum opposite Cumberbatch in the Moffat/Gatiss version of Sherlock Holmes, if you've seen it. Ventham herself featured in The Faceless Ones and will later appear in Sylvester McCoy's first story; so there's that to look forward to...

I like Image of the Fedahl

I know I watched this story. I know I did. Yet I have nothing. You seemed to have fun with it at least...

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I'll probably like it more on a rewatch, but as it stands, its probably my least favourite Tom Baker story so far

yeh it's a mess, but a somehow alrite mess... people like this coz it has echoes of the gothic era that ended with The Horror of Fang Rock...
