Innocent is a fantastic manga. I hope it gets adapted into an anime someday. The first part is art, the second part has it's hiccups but is still great

I loved the arc with Damiens execution of being drawn and quartered, the graphic detail Sakamoto goes into about the physics of how the limbs need to be ripped and the cutting of the tendons, made it absolutely chilling.

I've seen a video of this guy's process and he has a whole ass team for clothing alone, where that wear these historical clothes and pose for him. This guy has one of the most unique manga operations I've seen

It is Sakamoto's masterpiece "except at the end", but he is a mangaka who has a different vision of what he wants to approach as an author and this series gave him a kick to do Dracula and focus once and for all on historical content, If there's anyone who could adapt Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon Bonaparte, it would be Sakamoto who, for me, just using 3D for composition already makes him a filmmaker who makes mangá.

What I liked about a KZfaq video talking about Sakamoto is the fact that he prays in a temple after making the manga for the characters in his work who died because, according to him, "they are lives that he feels the loss", I found it quite exaggerated but I found it curious, what I also found it curious that his art before The Climber resembled a mixture of Baki, Boichi and Usogui, then today he arrived at this result that was beautiful in the Baki style, but currently without comparison.

Sakamoto is probably the greatest mangaka I’ve ever seen. His art, his stories, his characters, all masterpieces. The Climber being my favourite and having my favourite character ever in Mori Buntarou.

I soooo wish we got his stuff published in English officially. Really love Innocent.

Ryan if you haven't go and check out Kokou no Hito - A manga about a solo climber. It has Art by Shinichi and story was by a different guy for the first 30 chaps but after that Shinichi took over and it became something incredible. I have a feeling you'll love it. Amazing Imagery and great story as well, it completely took me by surprise on how good it gets after Shinichi takes over. Easy entry in the top 10. I've been meaning to check Innocent out ever since I read Kokou no Hito and this vid might just be the push I need lol.

If they ever do a Bloodborne manga, they should hire Shin-ichi Sakamoto

When you thought no other manga can top Berserk art quality. Then Innocent comes. That's the beauty of digital art. Appreciation for showing more light to this manga Ryan. Innocent suffers like a lots of good mangas like Akumetsu (Political manga with Deadpool type MC), Houses of Five Leafs (Samurai manga. Imagine every character is drawn like Illumi from Hunter X Hunter), Billy Bat (Naoki Urasawa work). Lack of popularity. Unfortunate truth but being a fan of manga and anime is like being in a rabbit hole. You can only dig further and the more you dig, the more gold you will find.

I read both mangas and I couldn't just read a few chapters and stop. I stayed up for hours with Hans zimmer's Time in the background(the ten hour version). I often go back to read chapters.
