Imagine this: You go to craft something but don’t have the materials. You click “Craft anyway!” and you see your character confusingly make the DIY. It comes out looking less than perfect but it would make a funny decoration!

they just have a question expression before you craft, then bad looking smoke comes out as they craft with a less confident look in their face, when they finish, they have a concerned expression as the music becomes distorted, the villagers around you will not clap, but look very concerned at you and the item you crafted

They should add 2 villagers modes: Normal mode: They have more personality, and can be rude, like in the old game. Chill mode: They are nice to you at all times, like as of right now. These modes are allowed to be changed.

I would love that if my villagers would tell me to stop talking to them so many times, but if it is added then it should be able to be different for each resident so a younger person who plays on the same switch wont be told to fuck off by their favorite villager

thankfully they added some of these stuff and more in the new 2.0 update, which isn’t perfect and doesn’t have everything, but it certainly helped me get back into the game a bit!

@@LoonyHalfBlood uhhhh, there are only like 6 different personalities and they repeat across the different characters. Even if you have all "cute" characters, they most likely have different personalities...but they're still the same of 6 different personalities that all of the characters in the game share. They're saying they want a little more variety than 6 different cookie-cutter personalities.

@@Shademastermcc & that the 6 personalities is kind of all you get with the villagers. Where is the personal growth? The most I get out of talking to my villagers is them asking to call me mountain. There is no development in how they talk throughout your "relationship" with them, just cookie cutter meaningless lines that are so, so repetitive.

Found the New Leaf music elitist! For context for the original comment, in Nick's streams of him making this video, he mentioned that he likes most of the tunes in this game, but the synthesizer melodies ruin many of them for him. In my opinion, the synthesizer wasn't the best choice, but the tracks are still really good even with them.

Honestly there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to indicate whether you've cataloged something or not. In the DIY menu it tells you if you've made the item before AND how many are in your inventory or storage

Items you haven't catalogued yet could have a little sparkle on the corner every now and then, kinda like watered flowers, so you don't even need to inspect them.

ftr, there are reasons why they dont have some of these features. you cant decorate/terraform while guests r visiting so that you cant trap them. but most of this is... wow. like youre literally telling them concisely what everyone thinks is wrong with this game and nintendo is just like "Actually we just made it harder to make money" like. why. WHY. this is supposed to be a fun zen game not a challenge

Another thing is that you can't customize your airport because it's vital to some of the mechanics. Different coloured airports mean that you will get certain exclusive colours on items in nook shopping.

new horizons genuinely feels so disappointing. they really need to pump up those updates and add gameplay, content and qol updates that increase player retention and not just focus on designing and furniture items. most players stopped playing this game since summer wave 2.
