the only thing i always feel in these videos is that his car control is so good that he never has to worry about defensive plays at all. not getting the greatest shot is fine, but not getting good clears loses you so many matches. *EDIT* just saw the rest of the video and he actually talks about this after the last game, so ignore that post ;)

I think a series like this is really helpful, especially because Leth is pretty good at realizing the skill level of his teammates which makes the game a lot closer so he isn't smurfing on everyone. It's way too common for people to make new accounts just to feel cool because they're wrecking someone way below their rank. This is so instructional and well-made, especially this episode since I'm trying to break into champ 2. So helpful, thank you Leth.

aye smurfs are just losers with self esteem issues who get hard-locked in their own rank so they go to lower ranks to brag to make themselves feel better. Even in casual, we (normally mid-high plat in ranked) came up against a squad who were flip-resetting consistently (so GC's at least) and they were still what-a-saving every goal... in a casual match. smh. Leths rtssl videos I see more as tutorials though and the only way he can really teach each rank is to use new accounts since his own one would never be low enough lol.

Hi Leth, Your road to SSL series has really helped me out. I recently climbed from low plat to low diamond because of you. I haven't learned any new mechanic. Just a change of mindset watching you play lower ranks. I also think this translates to real life. We keep ball chasing irl when we should really be focusing on the moves people are making.

Hey Leth, in the short span of your last three videos (this one included), I’ve learned to slow my game down and play with my brain which has already brought me from Diamond 3 nearly champ 2 so keep doing what you’re doing bc I’ve never been this high in rank and I’m still winning the majority of my games

I think Leth forgets how toxic the rocket league players just actually are XD. I guess since he has been in the high ranks for so long he hasn’t seen players be as toxic? But down in the RL trenches it’s non stop toxicity😂

A lot of the problem for me when it comes to bad touches isn't a lack of knowledge, but a lack of reading and skill. I misread exactly where the ball will touch the wall, and then I hit it wrong and it spills out to midfield. I just need more practice in this case.

I really think this is your best Road to SSL series yet. The way the rules you set yourself in inhibiting your play and making mistakes then showing and explaining why that was bad or making good plays where you don't need SSL level predictions or positioning. All these things make it a lot more understandable what exactly is needed to focus on to increase your level of playing! Just wanted to give a props for that:D Still want to see a 1v1 Road to SSL someday though 0.-

Especially difficult is when the ball is hit high into my corner. Could you maybe touch on dealing with that in one of the free play examples? Thank you again!!

The toxicity just happens at this rank :( sorry. Thank you for the wall play explanation! Something I've personally done is try and rotate my mind to treat the wall like the ground as weird as that sounds. It helps me focus more on where to hit the ball as if I were to start a ground to air dribble

Sometimes if I have a teammate that's just being needlessly toxic, I just start throwing the match because I feel like they don't deserve the win. Also kinda toxic I suppose, but at least I can do something about it in that situation, compared to when I'm on the opposite side. I definitely wouldn't keep my cool as well as you do here, but then again that pretty much describes this whole 'road to SSL' series xD

Opponents are toxic in about 60% of my diamond, now champ games - and its usually when they are winning, or after they score an overtime goal to win so you can't do anything about it. Shows the age and stupidity of the average player base.

One thing I’ve noticed in C3 is just the crazy inconsistency most games are normal but then some I just get clapped so hard like 7-0 by some GC2 thats went on an L streak

Leth im mid c3 and me and my teammate are significantly better at wall reads and aerials than the opponents we face but still fail to win and as you are playing really simply we obviously need to improve differently

This series is amazing! I have already few tips hooked in my brain from Leth that help me understand the game so much better. Last episode was that securing boost vs ball in corner to relieve pressure. Previously I had no idea why do sometimes opponents get to maintain pressure against you for so long, but now I understand - they don't have to retreat because they steal your boost. So if you secure your boost, opponent will be forced to retreat for boost and that will relieve pressure. EDIT: grammar
