Wikipedia - "The Ati-Atihan Festival is a feast held annually in January in honor of the Santo Niño (Infant Jesus), concluding on the third Sunday, in the island and town of Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines. The name Ati-Atihan means "to be like Atis" or "to make believe Ati's", the local name for the Aeta aborigines who first settled Panay Island and other parts of the archipelago.
The festival consists of tribal dance, music, accompanied by indigenous costumes and weapons, and parade along the street. Christians and non-Christians observe this day with religious processions." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ati-Ati...)

Hala Bira” means go dance while “Pwera Pasma” means without pasma. dance without getting sick 4. Mood: Happy Melody: rhythmic succession of single tones organized as an aesthetic whole Texture: Polyphonic Tempo: Fast Dynamics: Loud Timbre: Tremolo 5. i'm proud that we have one of the best street parties. its true because we party all day. lots of merrymaking.

According to history Ati-Atihan started in the year 1212 when 10 datus, or patriarchal chiefs, and the companions fled from a tyrannical sultan in Sabah, Borneo, and landed on the island of Panay.

It's possible that they actually came from the Kingdom of Pannai under the Srivijaya Empire. But who knows, there's not enough evidence.
