Nobody really talks about the chemical tanker (Cryogenics) division in the KZfaq trucking world so I figured I’d shine the light on this company. Let me know what you think! Most chemical tanker jobs pay pretty well. #trucking #truckdriver

I hope there's people watching this that the lightbulb goes on. For a few thousand dollars of CDL school (or free!) you have a pretty clear path to six figures in a short period of time. No college debt, just be ready to work. Start on food service, work hard, get experience then drive a tanker if you want. There are a lot more difficult jobs that pay less-you don't have to keep working them. This stuff could change someones life for real.

@@imanthonytv might make video on what it's like to fuel a freight train. Also I got all my endorsements before I even went to cdl school. I always felt the only thing an employer would be able to tell me is that you don't have enough experience. I have everything except the passengers endorsement. Hazmat and tanker jobs are pretty much all I look for at this point. I just got my cdl in April and I was shocked to be able to get a tanker job. So they're definitely out here.

Got my CDL at 21 years old. 34 years old now. Driving here in Dallas, Tx. Driving for a company locally taking home 6 figures. Sounds pretty unheard of. Have drove for a lot of big companies over the years. My advice would be to get all your endorsements especially Hazmat. Don’t be afraid to leave a job if you’re not happy. I’m on my 4th company this year til I got what made me happy!! Take advantage of having the upper hand in this field. You don’t have to settle!!!

It’s all dependent on location, for instance here in FL, having those endorsements HELP but you won’t make anything over $80k unless you’re in LTL or some kind of specialized freight. For example, $20-23 an hour here in Orlando is about the norm while in the Midwest that is basically entry level in a shitty company.

I work in cryogenics and it's very slept on. This is NOT a field for reckless drivers and most companies in this field have front-facing cameras and you're not allowed to use your cell phone while you're driving at all. Not even hands-free. We also can't take all of the routes non-hazmat trucks can take so it takes some trip planning. But I honestly can say I love it over here. No bumping docks. I do straight drop and hook but most local jobs you WILL be loading and unloading even with AirProducts, AirGas, Air Liquide, etc. So don't all come running over here at once thinking you're just gonna pull up and someone is going to unload for you, that's not what that description meant. Just that the heaviest thing you'll lift is the hoses. Take the time and consider if it's a right fit for you or not.

What these people say is true about pay but it comes with draw backs. There's really only 5 cryogenic gas companies in the US that'll pay over 120k to start. But people never really mention the negatives so I will: 1) forward/ rear facing cameras 24/7 record 2) no phone policy "I keep mine in my lunch box". 3) quarterly safety meetings mandatory 4) 4-6 sec following distance @all times 5) cones out when backing 6) safety- spy checks (someone follow you making sure driving/ unloading procedures are followed). Done randomly 7) must drive below posted speed limit 8) no eating behind the wheel 9) no cb radio 10) annual ride alongs Some rules can be bent. But if you break no.2 you're terminated on the spot. If you break the others you may be coached but multiple offenses you will be terminated. These jobs have higher turnover rates bc of their safety policies but if you can follow them you will enjoy your job. F.Y.I Linde or now in USA called (linde plc) pays the most! On the ASU side any way.

you may have load your trailer before and after it depends on what terminal you assigned to they have cameras inside and out to monitor your driving conditions and habits, the pay is sub par it’s okay if you don’t know any better, also you’ve have to do positioning of the truck and trailer to connect the hose to the tank you’re required to fill, also your required to wear fire retardant clothing year round!

You forgot the best part. APCI Cleveland is a union shop; Steelworkers. They mainly haul LIN LOX and LAR. Middletown is also a union gig Locol 100! Good company. If I had my choice I’d choose Middletown. Also, this gig isn’t for everyone. It’s Hazmat for a reason. You can get seriously hurt or hurt others. They also are very selective with who they hire. They want the cream.

I worked for cryogenic companies(Cryogenic transportation and Airgas/Air liquide) and they have the best insurance for their employees. But they are anal about safety cameras everywhere. Not that it's a bad thing. A lot of older truck drivers work for most of these companies so you'll be at the bottom of seniority for a few years. But if you have a young family this is the way to go. Leave full come back empty. But it's hazmat for a reason cryogenic means colder than anything you will ever experience.

Do your due diligence on the trucking school you are looking to attend. I lost 5k for being naive and not doing this. Met this guy who works for a school and he said he had his own company. The guy kept calling me, urging me to get my permit and sold me on this idea of obtaining my CDL. I obtained it last December and I had a few training sessions. I took my first test in January and failed my pre trip. Took my 2nd test in April and failed due to parallel parking. Every time I called him so I can practice there was always an excuse, truck broke down, the clutch broke, I’m out of town. I finally just took it as a loss. Here I am today, 10 months in and no CDL and paying off a 5k loan. Do your due diligence guys, men today no longer value their word. Growing up I was always taught that as a man our word is our bond but unfortunately today those days are long gone.
@SpeakerBox24
@SpeakerBox24 Жыл бұрын
I agree, a man is only as good as his word. His lack of integrity shouldnt stop you from getting your CDL though. While he flaked, you could still be on the road and making good money and have that loan paid off. Dont give up on it, having your CDL will net you a lot more than that 5k you invested. Keep pushing regardless.

It's not the best decision for everyone but is was the best for me.... I've made in 4 months what it took me in a year in Mississippi.

Don’t forget Rail Road jobs like freight conductor starts 100k, $5k to start! Union job, No social security payments only a large pension! Must travel no drugs and must have high school diploma 👍🏿 CN rail and CP hiring! I love it❤️ This job is great if u are right out of high school and want big boy bucks. U wanna get away from your baby mama or like traveling. Don’t want to stay in parents basement forever! Don’t want to join military this is the job for you! Many women work there too not only for men! Downside you won’t be home much, no hanging out with friends or hanging with girlfriends. But if u don’t have money in your pocket what does all that matter. Once your pocket is full all that will be waiting for you 😁 There are guys here who drive Porsche’s, Lincoln’s and Ford Raptors everyday to work and they have only been here 5 years. I spent the first week on the computer training learning about the company and what they expect and the rules regulations. The driver are regulated by the FDA because they haul medical and food grade liquids. I also have to have a passport and able to cross into Canada from time to time. It’s a slip seat job. No assigned trucks or trailer you just get what you are assigned for the day. 100% safety. Zero tolerance phone usage while in the truck and driving. They will terminate immediately if they catch you on the phone. They do have driver facing camera and all kinds of stuff in the truck to make sure you are being legal and safe.
