Day 2... Searching for Daniell Imbo and Richard Petrone (Missing Persons Case)... Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Adventures With Purpose searches underwater in the Deleware River and local waters in New Jersey.
Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone were last seen in the late evening of Saturday, February 19, 2005, leaving a bar on Philadelphia’s South Street for Petrone’s black 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck and never seen again.

===========
Our intention was never to end up in Philadelphia searching for Imbo and Petrone for the next few days for this story really started in 2 hours away in Quakertown, PA where John had convinced us there would be 10-15 cars in a quarry.
Turns out the cars underwater in the quarry were only a myth, leaving us with a few extra days at the start of our 2020 road trip across the US to clean up the environment of abandoned and stolen cars underwater along with focusing on missing persons cold case files.
With Philly so close, it was a good time to look into the disappearance of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone.
In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we search a pond in New Jersey before returning to the Delaware River.
So what did happen to Danielle and Richard?
Are they two missing persons who ended up in the river?
Were they carjacked?
What was the crime?
This investigation into Danielle and Rich’s disappearance remains open and active, and there is still a $50,000 reward for information on the couple’s whereabouts or for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for their disappearance. The reward is being administered by the Philadelphia Citizens Crime Commission.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to call the Citizens Crime Commission tip line at 215-546-TIPS (215-546-8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
#scubadiving #coldcase #missingpersons
Thank you to all the volunteers who came out in support of our search efforts by keeping us fed and helping with gear.
Hug the ones you love and reach out to those in need.
We are humbled and thankful for this opportunity and experience to help bring answers for Danielle and Richard's families.

I live in Philly, wanted you to know - the bridge on 30/130, crossing the Cooper River, was replaced in 2014. The bridge that was there for 80+ years before then had stone guardrails that had fallen down or fully crumbled in several places. If you're ever back in the area, please scan under that bridge, as it's entirely possible that no one noticed signs of a vehicle careening off the bridge given all the problems with the old bridge. I can find old photos of the bridge from the early 2000s if that helps!

You're seeing an image of the bridge that was built in 2014 at 6:54, the older one was torn down after 85 years of service. The bridge was a mess by the 2000s, repairs had to be done all the time.

Also, they disappeared in the winter - almost every bridge in the area, particularly the older ones, are awful in those temperatures. It was ~26°F at midnight, with 10 mph gusts of wind. I nearly skidded into the railing from a patch of black ice on an on-ramp last year, and I was only going 15 mph. If Richard had been drinking (or even if they were both stone cold sober), driving in the dark over an icy old bridge could've been their COD.

About convo at 14:00 - there's no toll on the Ben Franklin bridge if you're crossing from PA into NJ, only the opposite way. So, while I'm pretty sure there were cameras on the bridge itself (added after 9/11), Richard and Danielle wouldn't have gone through a tollbooth on the Ben Franklin. I don't know what kind of cameras were in use in 2005, but I did just confirm DRPA/PATCO installed new "intelligent" ones in 2008. A camera map was released awhile ago, the only camera I saw on the Ben Franklin (NJ side) was at an on-ramp. I know there was one at an on-ramp on the Philly side, but there are multiple spots to get on the Ben Franklin. Figured I'd mention that as well.

@@ScoobyShotU Yeah.. we don't exactly "suffer" from autism. We struggle and it's a disability (which is a massive spectrum!). If this kiddo is anything like me, it's the editing. Jared has a way of speaking that is calming and attention grabbing. The music isn't too loud or distracting, and it's easy to listen to. Jared also teaches each video... so to a degree, I can read his sonar because I've watched so many videos. The only thing that my brain doesn't like is when they pull cars and the crunch against the rocks.

Hear me out... There is one thing many people have overlooked. The area where South Street is lies in the "original" Philadelphia, aka Center City. And yes, it's a very dense area with essentially zero "desolate areas". BUT, they lived in Mt. Laurel. So it's likely they didn't try to take the Ben Franklin Bridge... no one from that part of NJ takes the Ben Franklin... they probably tried to take the Betsy Ross bridge. That's the bridge most people from suburban NJ, especially Mt.Laurel, take... because it takes you right to 73 into Mt.Laurel. Which means they likely went down Delaware Ave/Richmond St to the Betsy Ross bridge entrance in Port Richmond... because Delaware Ave/Richmond St runs right below I-95, following it exactly, and if you've been drinking, that's the way you take so you don't get pulled over or in an accident. If they did that, THEN they were definitely near water access and many desolate areas. There are streets right off Richmond street where you can drive right into the water. Look up Graffiti Pier for an example, it's right on the route from South Street to the Betsy Ross bridge entrance on Richmond Street. That is something I haven't heard anyone suggest yet. It seems the most likely scenario to me.

I dought they would be by graffiti pier the tides gets really low there and you can see the bottom of the river sometimes off to the sides and you can't really get cars back there well back when they went missing you couldn't there were big locked gates and kites of trees and debris and trash back then me and my friends used to go back there to fish swim or just hang out gross I know lol but true a friend of mine found the kid Jason Sweeney when going back there to fish but inorder for us to get back there back then you had to be on foot and go through holes in the fence but if they would be back there they would be found because there building houses condos and all kinds of stuff back there now all along the river so I hope they do find them one day soon because there family's need and deserve that peace you know..

I'm sure that you guys have checked into this but it seems that there was a heavy snow storm system going on during the time of their disappearance, so I'd think about adding that to driving/road factors. I used to live not too far from south Philly & the ice storms up that way were horrendous. Lots of cold Canadian air, combined with eastern bay & southern moisture, would create severe freezing conditions on the roads, & a lot of the highways in Philly & Jersey are concrete & elevated based, which tends to cause roads to freeze much faster at temps near & a bit above freezing due to winds under raised road construction. I only say this because back in the early 90's I slid sideways down a roadway that went over a creek & the back of my car slid up & onto a jersey wall barrier, & luckily I didn't go over but it didn't take much to get my vehicle up there. Just a few thoughts I figured I should say something about & hopefully will help with your investigation here. Good luck & thank you for all that you guys do for so many families, be safe & God Bless. The weather site with the winter storm weather at that time. - www.weather.gov/phi/02202005wss

@@jdaxci I watched both parts of their search and they were just blindly guessing where to look. They need someone that is familiar with those roads, and the routes they might have taken that night. I know the area well, and know there are many, many different roads they could have taken depending on any one of many factors. They ruled out taking the Walt Whitman bridge just because it is south of South street, and south of Mt Laurel, but I know it's easier to get on WW bridge from South Street, then it is to get on Ben Franklin Bridge. I wish their team was able to have investigative information from the authorities to help narrow down their search. One person claims there was no records from any of the bridges that they crossed that night. I don't know how accurate that info is and wouldn't rely on it. I just hope the family get answers someday.

Jared, Something you may not have ever considered in a lot of these cases, a car can sit in a small body of water unnoticed for years and most people never consider the possibility that a car could even be in there. If you Google "Mackay Queensland Australia" you will see on the map a small town about 20 miles south of Mackay, named Sarina, I cannot recall what year it was but it would be in the early 1990's a young fellow had only been married about 9 weeks and it was just before christmas he lived in Sarina and every work day he drove his car from Sarina to Mackay where he worked, on the last day of the working year his workplace was having a christmas party so on this day he finished work and then drove home to Sarina and got changed into suitable casual cloths and then drove back into Mackay to attend the party, according to witnesses at the party he only drank about 2 alcoholic drinks early in the evening and then only drank coke because he had to drive home to Sarina, he left the party around 10pm and never arrived home. He was never seen or heard from for about 17 years, the Sarina shire council were doing drainage maintenance work along the side of Homebush Road just north west of Sarina , when they discovered a submerged car in a water hole that was barely the width of the car but was about 8' deep, the police were called and the car was lifted out and it was discovered the remains of this young fellow that had gone missing all those years ago. So you may want to extend your searches to include smaller bodies of water where a car can fit.

@Brenda Shadley Shadley well all it takes is for you to find a person who works there who needs money or you just know a person an trust them enough. Money talks... if the ex husband can “hire” some one to make his ex wife an all disappear he can definitely pay some one off... it’s almost like the story of jimmy Hoffa. The mafia said they put in him a car an crushed it hence why he will never be found. A car crushed in a machine that makes the car into a square cube there will be literally no evidence. All you would have to go by is hear say. If you killed a person what makes you think they care about legal trouble. But any way with all that being said it may be possible for that “crushed car” theory to be true..

I believe that you're right Allison. People talk so there should have been something by now. In my home town of Kansas, one of my dad's school friends was found in a ditch. Nobody knew anything about how he got there or why. It was about 15 years later when a female was talking to someone at a bar about killing a guy and dumping in a ditch. Apparently she is a diabetic and stuck him with one of her insulin pins which was the reason why he died. She's now in prison for opening her mouth. I'm with you on this and think that it might have been an accident and they ended up somewhere where it hasn't been checked yet. It's just a matter of time.

Before searching too deeply I would have researched the Philidelphia parking authorities files from 15 years ago to be sure they didn't tow and sell the vehicle. Because if that is a possibility they may have been made vunarable and they could be anywhere. Just a thought. And could be a reason for not picking up the vehicle before auction. It could also explain why the police haven't found it. Especially if someone bought it to scrap out.
