8 ай бұрынAnother business meeting near Portland takes me on another journey to PDX. This time, a warm front moves in bringing widespread bad weather to the Pacific Northwest. Many cloud layers, rain, and below-freezing temps add a high risk of icing to the trip. Careful preflight-planning and a FIKI (flight into known icing) capable aircraft make this trip a possibility.

I’ve noticed that ILS approaches do overshoot and zig-zag, and GPS approaches don’t. I’ll have to check and see if there is some kind of VOR/LOC calibration.
