Makes you want to go give her a big hug, she wears her heart on her sleeve with this performance, what an extraordinary talent Imelda is. I've watched her from her Rockabilly days through so many transitions and styles, she is fast becoming a performer who will be recognised as a true musical legend.

Saw an interview with her that said the different approach is because she wanted to be more authentic. Apparently she began to feel like she had to dress up to become Imelda May. We all need to be authentic in life and I have big respect for her!

My friend bought me her latest album for Xmas on vinyl, a beautiful recording and a great singer, I've got most of her stuff on cd but this is different, no rockabilly, in my humble opinion she's finally come of age, just my opinion though.

I think this song is honestly so beautiful - rockabilly or not Imelda has an incredible voice that is so versatile. Her musical style needs to be appreciated; regardless of musical genre.

That song is so relatable to me! Dated someone who lives in USA and I am living in the UK Long distance relationship... broken up with him now but I still like him, try messaging him on anything but never gets a call back... (I am a female btw) *breaks down* ANWAY! You're music Imelda never disappoints me! You are great and don't give up your work! Me and my parents never get bored of your music.

I do not know his life, but some personal events or others make that one changes while remaining oneself. and I love Imelda May. she is a rare singer because she gives herself entirely to her audience. and that does not matter of the musical style because it is monopolized them with a great talent. And I prefer listening to such a beautiful non rock'n'roll song by Imelda May than listening to a very bad rock'n'roll badly playing by other. with Imelda we can not be disappointed because she puts her heart into it.

This is how it works....the record company market, promote you, build you up, distribute your product and basically make you the star. For this, you get a big bill. There then comes a point when they need you to shift units....you will not shift enough units with rockabilly tinged music, as good as it might be. Thats where Imelda finds herself in my opinion....hence the change of direction.

With her beautiful voice she can sing anything. I hope this change gets her more recognition and air play. She is right Rockabilly is a niche genre and she is great at it.But it does not expose her to the masses.
