Im giving up , The mechanics of this game is honestly insane lmao.

If it weren't difficult to play, it wouldn't be a Touhou game.

I've played this game WAYY too many times, but it's one of my favorite. It's not anymore complicated than Soul Caliber or Tekken. It's closer to how Skull Girl works, and specials are usually any combination of "D" and an attack.

To anyone having issues with the pause button, change the key in your config, save it. Then go back in game and press ESC again, it should work.

This actually helped alot. I was wondering why I couldn't do supers. I like how you have to actually enter a super mode, before you can use it. I definitely want to get into this game. I always felt that it was cooler than 10.5 and 12.3

5 Stars ***** Professional, well presented, and scary. As someone who has never been to good at fighting games in general, all this technical speak is bewildering. I've never even considered the cancelling relations in the attacks. Just kind of press the button that comes to mind and hope it works. Against my norm competition I still win 90% of the time though. The video is a credit to the creator game. I've seen too many put IaMP/SWR down because they don't understand its differences.

Has anyone here tried playing this on Windows 10? Fullscreen doesn't fit properly, even after installing the extension to switch from DirectX 8 to DirectX 9. Also Sakuya second story mode spellcard crashes the game when she stops time, but thats probably a different issue all together. (Of course the girl who can stop time crashes the game >_>)

421A or 421B or 421C does the warp step. A brings you backward, B brings you forward, and C brings you forward a lot.

Not to all, and the input is different for each character, though a few characters have a warping attack. Reimu has one, I think Yukari has one, Remilia has a very fast jump attack that might as well be a warp. There may be others, but I play mostly Marisa, so all I can say for sure is that she doesn't have this kind of attack. While you are playing, press the pause button. You will see a list of your character's special moves. If you have a warp, it will probably be one of these.

absolutely flawless. i had completely written this game off as a horrible button mashing fighting game aimed at school girls . and it doesn't look to be broken like MvC2, well nothing can be that broken, but i thought i would be underdeveloped in terms of balance. bravo, you have educated me.

This did not help me at all. BUT I respect his knowledge and skill of this hard ass game. maybe try to declare more about getting started at the game and how to use combo's.

Can't even beat Normal, Story OR Arcade. But then again, I can't beat Smash on Normal either, so *cries in corner* I see those fancy combos, and I'm like "O____O IS THIS EVEN THE SAME GAME I'M PLAYING"

This might sound stupid, but I just got this (english version) and I can't figure out how to even select something. :/ Like at the menu, I can move the select, but can't actually select and I've tried, like, every key.

@1337grenade Once you do 22D (ddD / down>down>D ), you do 236D ( qcfD / down>forward>D ) to do the spellcard. If you're using keyboard, you'll have to try to make sure that you kinda slide your fingers so that the down and forward are pressing at the same time sometime in between the down>forward motion (hence the 3 in 236).

Three is just down and forward held together.

@ThatDreamAgain I had that problem too. You need to find config and open it to change the controls to something on the keyboard. If you can't open config, right click on it and go to properties, then compatabilty and set it to Windows 2000.

How do you configure down-left, down-right ect.? because when I go to configure I can only chose the buttons for A,B,C,D,Left,Right,Down,Under. any help would be welcome.

alt + enter to switch window to fullscreen midgame, theres an option to start it in fullscreen from the config.exe, i think its the first checkbox on the right.

@Joedeluccio I _think_ if you turn off numlock, the numpad gets converted into the directional keys and the diagonals.

You don't have to, but if you don't want to go downloading it again (assuming you're going to not pay for it to get it), then it's nice to have it on a CD.

This is a great tutorial and all, but it there any way to get the game to recognise the number 3 on my number pad as "crouch forward" or do I have to put up with trying to hit 2 and 6 together? This one fact has left me in greater pain than any other flaw in the game (if you consider it a flaw).

ummm... when I tried the game and played it are the characters suppose to crouch when you press 3 on the # pad?

Does this game need to be played with the number pad, or can it be played with just the arrow keys? (My laptop doesn't have a number pad)

well, in the past I've experienced crashing, but after getting the required dll files at google and installing the japanese language support it works totally fine.. also, as explained in the vid, do bombs by using 22+C. also, unlock characters by finishing story mode with different characters. difficulty doesn't matter.

is it possible to play online without hamachi but with caster?

um, whats happening here?I press b and he hear a sound and after a few times pressing it A becomes a projective attack as well

640x480 is the only resolution thsi game supports natively, cowcaster has the option to upscale it and apply filters for it if you really dont like big pixels.

Using the download from the link in the description, the game opens up white as if it froze. Might I be doing something wrong?

patchouli seems to be the most overpowered / easiest low skill character to win the story with, thats how I unlocked suika

to change the moves open up the folder called Immaterial And Missing Power and teh click config

You can't maximize the game. You can fullscreen it with the universal command alt+enter, or you can just configure the game to start fullscreen. Key config is in config.exe or confige_e.exe (for English patch). You will likely need to set compatibility for Win2000.
