During primary inspection, passengers must present basic travel documents:
Passport, valid at least six months from the departure date;
Valid visa, depending on the destination;
Boarding pass; and
Confirmed return or roundtrip ticket, when necessary
Self-funded tourists are required to show financial capacity or source of income and proof of employment, aside from the tickets and hotel booking.
During primary inspection, Immigration officers will ask relevant clarificatory questions and require documents needed to "sufficiently establish his/her declared purpose of travel."
At this stage, a passenger's departure can be deferred if there are fraudulent or falsified documents or if the traveller refuses to undergo primary inspection.
On the other hand, passengers could be referred to secondary inspection if, for example, they are unable to establish the purpose of their trip or if they have insufficient documents, do not have a visa, or have previously misrepresented any travel information.
During the secondary inspection, the Immigration officer will not just look at the purpose of travel but the totality of circumstances of the passenger including countries of destination, purpose of stay, travel history, age, financial capacity and educational background.
Misrepresentation, doubtful purpose of travel or insufficient travel documents could also lead to a deferral of departure at this stage.
Potentially trafficked passengers, however, shall not only be deferred for departure, they will also be turned over to the IACAT-Anti-Trafficking Task Force (IACAT-ATTF), which will in turn, hand over documents to the appropriate law enforcement agency for questionable passports or the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs for all other passports.
IACAT's crackdown on human trafficking recently led to the arrest of a suspected illegal recruiter whose Facebook post went viral back in May after she complained of being repeatedly offloaded from her international flights despite supposedly having complete documents.

Ang issue kasi kahit na nagbigay na yung agency sayo nang requirements or prepared ka as individual naghahanap parin nang butas. Tulad nung nangyari sa babae nahinanapan nang yearbook. Dun mali ang IO natin kong maliit ang % nang nahuman traffic bakit pinaparusahan ang iba.

Hindi ka pwedeng pigilan ng immigration na umalis ng bansa kung walang hold departure order mula sa korte. Illegal yang requirement na additional documents. Hindi batas yan dahil hindi dumaan sa congress. Labag yan sa Philippine Constitution. Dapat ireklamo sila sa supreme court.

Problema wala pa nagreklamo para e deklara unconstitutional. Is immigration a legislative department of the Philippines to create essential law? Ni hindi nag demanda ang OFW organization at iba pinoy na oras oras lumalabas. Poro lang tayo reklamo pero wala nag demanda sa supreme court to declare unconstitutional

hi sir magask lang po, magt-travel po kasi kami ng family ko to Japan next week, nakakuha narin po kami ng visa and complete na po lahat hotel accom, tickets etc. kelangan parin po ba namin maglabas ng bank statements and PSA kahit na halos un na rin naman ung hiningi nung kumuha kami ng visa? meron po kasing mga unemployed na siblings so worried po ako na hanapan sila ng docs.

In this case it is better you have a copy to show for proof of income or financial capacity (sometimes mas ok po talaga ung overprepared para all questions po can be answered during IO interview). But for some po, the Visa is already a good document to show sa IO. Hope this helps. Ingat po sa travel!

Hi sir! Filipinos do not need a visa to enter Macau po (source : Immigration site), meaning we can go po dun as long as meron po tayong mga basic travel documents (passport, ticket, accomodation). In your case, pwede po ninyo ishare ung details of your partner (address). Wala po tayo magiging problem basta po mapapatunayan po naten sa interview naten with the IO na tayo po ay babalik sa Pilipinas :)

Hi Mam, thanks po for watching! We also have the same case with my wife being a housewife po and normally we share our passports together or as a family pag nagtratravel and interview with IO. The husband po can share COE or proof of income "once asked" meaning di naman po automatic na kelangan ibigay ito - kc po ang proof of income or financial capacity is a secondary set of documents only. Hi po! If ever po na "plan" pa lang po ang travel naten, i highly suggest po na maprocess po muna ang US Visa before booking po of any ticket/accomodation. Once granted na po ang visa and for travel na po, need lang po ng -valid Passport, Visa (which you already have), boarding pass and return ticket plus financial proof or sponsors affidavit. Since visa free po ang mga Pinoy sa Malaysia, normally basic requirements lang po ang need : Passport with at least 6mos expiry, boarding pass, return ticket and accommodation po. Hi goodday po! To confirm, you are visiting po a country with visa requirement. Accdg po sa latest update, you will only need to have the basic documents po : Valid Passport, Visa (which you already have), boarding pass and return ticket. It may help po on your first visit to give the Itinerary of visit for the whole duration (kung ano at san po kayo pupunta) and proof of income (COE, salary payslip, or work email). Yes sir, pwede po! Magdala lang po tayo ng proof of income (Business Registration, Business Permits, Ownership Certificate - or any document po na magpapatunay po na meron po tayong source of income). Accdg po sa bagong rule (Aug 22 release), kung ang travel po ay sponsored kailangan daw po naten magdala ng notarized affidavit of support and Guarantee with ff details : a. Relationship of the passenger with the sponsor as evidenced by any document and/or circumstance that can establish the claimed relationship between the passenger and the sponsor; b. Reason for sponsorship; c. Financial capacity of the sponsor to support the passenger’s travel; d. The legal/immigration status or DMW registration of the sponsor; e. Address and contact information of the sponsor; and f. An undertaking by the sponsor that the travel is solely for tourism purposes, that the sponsored passenger shall return to the Philippines upon the completion of the tour as reflected in the return ticket, and that the unreasonable failure to comply with the obligations of sponsorship may affect the assessment of the passenger’s future travels and the sponsor’s capacity to invite. Per latest news po (Aug 31, afternoon) : Kinansel na ang new guideline pero kung ako po ang tatanungin, mas ok po na overprepared po tayo and dala po naten ang mga documents na potential na hahanapin. Hi sir, thanks for watching! Based on personal experience, hindi po sila mahigpit kapag family as long as dala po naten ung mga required documents. I suggest po to bring with you the birth certificate of the child and marriage certificate po ninyo ni wifey. For the proof of financial capacity, makakatulong po na magdala kayo ng COE and copies of payslip to inform them na may kakayanan po kayo sa pagtatravel since kayo po ang maytrabaho. Since 2018 po we are travelling din with our son, normally pumipila po kami ng as one (three passports ibbgay sa immigration officer). Mas madali din po normally ang processing kc special lane po ang with kids. SO if ever sir, pila po kayo sa special lane ng immigration (additional benefit, una din po kayo makakasakay sa plane pag may kasama kayong kids kahit anong airline). Hi po! Normally, ang naoofload naman po are the ff : (1) No capacity to support its travel and (2) May balak pong hindi na babalik sa Pilipinas. Hope sa interview po ninyo maestablish ung dalawang key reasons na nabanggit ko po! Have a safe trip! :)
