Very informative video and exactly what I was looking for regarding opening PSD files in Canva. One question though - once you've edited the file, do you save it as the PSD file that can still open in Photoshop (and if so, how do the edits appear?), or does it become a "Canva-only" file? 😊

for some reason it doesnt work for me. I dont know if I had to save the smart object photo a certain way or what but it locks the photo in place (even when I dont want it to). It also makes my smart object much smaller than the other layer. Just doesnt work for me. Please help. Can I send you a video or what should I do? Thanks for your help!

I like to use Photoshop and my dad likes to use Canva. We didn't necessarily know how well if at all Canva could handle a Photoshop PSD; he was supposing that he needed a template file such as an Adobe Photoshop PSDT, but after watching a few videos including this one I see a PSDT is not necessary. But basically I had created some simple joke images with background color, and at least two text layers(Joke and punchline). Well in attempt to give him all the Jokes together I put all the layers in one PSD file. Well Canva didn't seem to handle the multiple/several+ layers well because when it opened the PSD I gave my dad for use in Cava the result ended up being that it did read the PSD when imported, but the different layers were jumbled together. All the background layers occupied the same space so you didn't see each one unless you deleted the one on top and the obvious things being that the text layers were jumbled up and needed to be pulled apart and sorted onto their own pages in Canva. The importing would be better if maybe Canva read the PSD then allowed the users to tell it what layers to import on how many pages. In the case of my PSD file that I put all the layers in it was about three layers per file or per page that made up each image. Then when I spent the time to sort the text right on different pages in Canva I had five jokes in Photoshop that I saved in the one file; but over in Canva I only saw four jokes that I sorted out. But we're glad importing PSDs is a possibility, if Canva could please program the tool to handle layers better. Sort out the layers in a dialogue and allow the user to tell Canva which ones to put on a page(s).
