Yes, you can import your own samples and MIDI files into your Logic Pro for iPad projects, the problem is that Apple haven’t made the process particularly straightforward.

Hey Patrick, I’m a bit confused confused by your narrative 😁. How is drag-and-drop clunky, weird or ‘not straight forward’? Nothing could be quicker and easier! My Files App is always at the ready in slideover mode. Slide in and drag, slide out to hide. (No need to close Files) Its how its been in iPad OS for years. I guess most folks just haven’t been using iOs for productivity much up to now. Anyways thanks for another great video 👍

Pretty much every other iOS DAW handles the import of samples and files in-app (including GarageBand). Apple making us use slide over to get files into Logic is definitely an anomaly and hopefully something that will be fixed at a later date.

Every other daw has a built in browser. The files app doesn’t do simple things such as preview the sample before you drag it in. Imagine if on the Mac you had to open use the file explorer to get drums. It would suck 😑

Does the timestretch button have to be enabled before an external audio loop is brought into a track? As i couldn't get the loop in time/sync with my current tempo🤔

If I have a sample pack of 16 drum one-shots, is there an easy way of dragging them all into the drum editor and not one-by-one? Or alternatively, IS there a way of batch importing kits to Logic Pro?

It's useless in any real world application as all MIDI tracks/channels are merged into one track on import. So if you want to export from say Studio One to edit on your Logic ipad, forget it

Depends on the modifier you import. MIDI arrangements will separate out into multi track projects.
