Keepers never get the credit they deserve, the amount of training that goes into these players is amazing and the amount of skill, reactions and positioning it requires on top of how painful it must be having grown men kicking footballs at you, in my opinion, makes them the most skilled and respectable players on any pitch by far.

i remember when i used to be a goalie and it was really hard at the end of the game when they were celebrating who scored i just kind of felt bad that i wasn't recognized. goalies are unsung heroes.

The role of a goalkeeper is something special. I mean think about. It is the guy you call when everything went wrong. Everything that matters in this moment is saved or gone by decisions you have to make within fractions of a second. No tactics, no playing around, just responsibilty, raw instinct and capabilities. It is the hero role in football.

I wish that the people i know and that play would realize how essential and how skilled you have to be to be goalkeeper. Not everyone can make amazing plays like this. Especially for teams that I've played for, old teammates would tell me that each time I slipped up it was my fault, but then don't credit it me when I do make intense saves. They forget that it is a team effort, and not about how hard or far you can kick but the communication and teamwork that you need to be a successful team.

This just shows what goalkeepers are doing and they need to be getting more respect

I am crying right now, I used to dream to become a Goalkeeper but I knew I can't be one cause I'm short and weak. Seeing those saves encouraged me, I want to feel that too, the ball being stopped from entering by my hand, seeing the the opponents disappointed and the joy felt from my team that I do my job well. I want that.

There is something special about a great save. Great strikes are one think but a great save is something else!

I remember a save from Navas to Harry Kane that it was only evident in the slowmo, he just touched the ball with the tip of his finger. Kane went and congratulated Navas after the match.

Goalkeepers don't get as much admiration and spotlight (very rarely, like Casillas) while having quite probably the most important position/role on the field. P.S. I think you need to include Eleftheropoulos' triple save from Olympiacos vs Juventus, it was pretty epic. Also, Peter Smeichel stopping penalties and Jorge Campos (who was an excellent goalie despite his reliatively short height for the position)

I love these videos. I just started as a keeper and I get discouraged by seeing people make goals, I know it happens sometimes and I need to get out of the mindset that not every ball can get blocked but I can’t help it, I want to be one of the best keepers one day and seeing these amazing people block these goals gives me so much inspiration

It's funny because in other sports, there just isn't a position (other than maybe a quarterback in football) that requires such heroics in order to do the job correctly. The amount of heart that the best goalkeepers possess is unbelievable, putting their bodies on the line in order to change the game. In my opinion, a great save is far more valuable than a great goal.

as a goalkeeper ik how it feels to be in that position,it feels so bad that in the end only the guy who scores will get all the attention and claps but when gks save the ball everyone is silent .in fact goalkeeping is the most hardest position in football a gk is a guy who corrects the mistakes all the other players did,and guys this is to everyone pls dont discourage gks after a lost match he not saving it will already hit him hard mentally if ur adding pressure we will have no intention to get better.ik this feeling when my teamates cheer me up that is that way where a goalkeeper increases his potential to get better.
