Definitely a game changer. Will make a lot of situations in editing much better. Yes, the healing brush is not always accurate or at least in some cases, this sounds and looks like a more precise and more accurate solution. Thanks for sharing the information.

Great addition, but like all other removal tools, it leaves a blur in certain situations. The trees in the background for instance looked blurred. AI is coming along in leaps and bounds, but there is a long way to go with these types of AI tools.

OMG and WOW! As an Adobe Photography Plan Subscriber who never uses PS because I find it intimidating and non intuitive and scary, this might finally tempt me over from LRC to PS to do some work! LOL

I find the tool also works well on old photos with dust and "squiggles" that go over a persons face. It removes the squiggles and rebuilds the face.

Yeah I had a play with this the other day, it's not bad but I still went back and redid the image I was working on with the clone tool as I found it more accurate and I could control every aspect and my clone source. Hope they keep the clone tool as well.

Enjoyed this video, I like firefly, however it does give some really odd results faces in particular. The interface is great, easy to use, and lots of design options. Hopefully the images will improve with time and the comments will help the bot!. Right now Midjourney and some of the other Ai platforms are giving superior results, even with the exact same prompts. :)

Thank you very much the only downside for me is that I found out a few days ago that this tool doesn't works on Mac OS Big Sur only on newer Os. Unfortunately Big Sur is how far I am been able to go with my setup. However this tool is working on my very old Windows 10 PC, I find that very strange.

Hi Colin I really enjoy your videos - However I wonder if you can help in when I try to use the latest version of Photos CC 24.41 & 23.31 and the Beta Versions it pickup the Raw file okay but when I export it Photoshop you cannot see the image as its a white screen and flashing is there a fix for this or is a bug ? Wow, that works great! Thanks for the info Colin, much appreciated! I downloaded and installed it and tried it out and I like the way it works. I pinned a shortcut for it to the task bar, but when I use that to open it, it opens the non beta version, but it's no big deal to just open it from the creative cloud app. That had me concerned for my use case which is to edit files from Lightroom in Photoshop. But I found that then when I send a file from Lightroom, it opens in the beta, which is what I was hoping for. But, I wonder though, is there a way to make Lightroom open a file in the standard version of Photoshop if for some reason I wanted to use that version? I probably won't since this beta version is working good, but it would be nice to know if there is a way.

Found a workaround for photo not loading Preferences, technology previews , check deactivate native canvas. restart beta.

I downloaded the Beta app. Opened my first photo and all it did was flash a white screen rapidly. No photo!! I gave up and went and had a beer.

I am not sure if you can help me with any of this. I am working on a 2014 27 inch iMac which I find fantastic. I have had no problems with it. Now I cannot use this new erase tool in the beta version of Photoshop because it requires Version 12. or higher. My computer is up-to-date but will only go to 11.7.5. Do you know of any way of getting around this? Thanks again for all of your videos they are certainly helpful to me. Lloyd

Tried the Beta 2 days ago. It completely messed up my PC system. Could not open images from LR Classic and once opened did not have any of my normal tools, actions etc. So I deleted the Beta and then LR stopped connecting to the actual version of Photoshop. It also messed up my linked actions and such with my Loupedeck controller. Do not recommend using the Beta.

I have the paid subscription for PS & LR and have the latest version but don’t see where to go to download the beta to install this feature. Am I missing something?

As a professional retoucher, I'll be interested to see what artifacts this leaves behind. How much repair work will I need to do and will it save time. Any commercial photographers reading this... I downloaded the Beta. I tried using the "Remove Tool". I got this message, "Your computer doesn't meet the hardware recommendations for this tool. Performance will be impacted". Using Windows 10, 32 GB of RAM, Nvidia Graphics Card with 11 GB. Any ideas?

It only works sometimes, and needs tweaks almost every time.

Where it doesn't get it right-in the complicated areas like the trees and cars in the first example-would never be acceptable to commercial clients. Where it does get it right, other tools work just as well.

I tried it on beta and I could remove cars people all sorts of things and you'd never know.

After seeing this tutorial, I installed Photoshop Beta and now Beta has become the default when I try to open a file from Lightroom. I do NOT want Beta to be the default PS app. I want "normal" PS2023 to be the default app. I cannot find any way to force LR to use regular PS 2023. So I have to uninstall Beta, then reinstall when I want to use this feature, then uninstall! This is no good. You should warn people about possible consequences or at least provide instruction on how to correct this lousy behaviour.

Almost - and "pretty good", but not really pleasing. Nothing we couldn't do with the existing tools. Only now the artifacts are generated faster. I urge everybody to take images that don't need to be partly replaced afterwards. It's actually a very rewarding discipline. Making yourself dependent of these almost-AI-perfect tools is a sick trend. Furthermore the overall "improvement" of Photoshop with these wonder tools is nothing more than the sugar that makes you take the medicine - the lifelong payment of ransom money to Adobe. Tomorrow I formally kiss Adobe farewell - I stopped using Bridge, ACR and Photoshop months ago in favor of the free Darktable and the cheap (one pay) Affinity Photo. The combination has proved to be sufficient in this case, but I am not dependent of earning money from my photography. With tons of wedding images this repair tool is probably a gift from heaven.
