You dont cut granite, you soften the granite by a very old process that my ancestors passed down in my family from slavery in Egypt and thru slavery in the US. The granite has to be heated up by fire or if the outside temperature is 120 degrees or more making the granite very hot to the touch. Then the granite has to be saturated constantly with a special mix of chemicals that I won't disclosed. That special mix and the heat will significantly soften the outside of the granite once the granite is soften enough then a very lite oil is applied to the granite to prolong the granite softness and now can be carved once the special mix have evaporated then granite will reharden.

Like a few people here have mentioned, you can do this by just making lighter taps with the chisel, but there's also another easy solution; to get things really smooth, they could rub/grind the surface with a tool. A piece of sandstone would actually work pretty well (despite being much softer than granite).

To all the people telling I can do it, these temples aren't 100 years old, they're more than a 1000. And also 1000 years ago metals couldn't be that hard due to presence of impurities and lack of proper metal extraction methods. And for those people who say that they could do it, they must try using only 2 tools, a chisel made of some impure metal and a rock and see how long it takes them. They would've used water techniques to make these wonderful cuts on the stone. You say that you grandpa or your dad made them, but what would he have done if he had to make the tools himself? These ancient sculptors must have used a technique similar to modern water erosion method and not use "industrial level tools" like your father's and grandfather's would've have used.

You can literally do this with a cold chisel and a piece of soapstone. Mark the area that you're going to cut or chisel and you can do it with a cold chisel. It's actually a lot easier than what people think. The way they do it is, they take a rectangle shape block and they draw the image on it and then they slowly chisel it out. They had Diamond tip tools back at this time which could have very easily, very very easily chiseled away at the granite rock. With no problem whatsoever. They had diamond flat saw blades that they could use to solve back and forth to create these perfectly Square stones that you see today. I mean, even Tre bite sets that 4000 years ago, a man named Tubal Cain was a master builder of weapons and other things built of iron metal gold etc. According to archaeologists we've only been able to use iron tools for about $3,500 years. If that's the case, then how did the person in the Bible that wrote it 4,000 years ago almost even know about iron tools let alone be a master of making them and creating tools from iron. Even the new dig found, Gobekle Tepe which is supposed to be 12,800 years old has images of people using iron tools not copper

this is a gross misunderstanding of material science. if you want to abrade a material, it will be very slow without a harder material. if you want to chip a material, you can use something considerably softer. corundum can be used to abrade granite, as it is harder, but flint, which is less hard, but also more tough, can be used to chip granite, which is more brittle. For anyone wanting a demonstration, watch the scientists against myths youtube channel

Everyone speaking from experience in comments or speaking specifically on this video. All I can say is there is undeniable overwhelming evidence of power tools in ancient sites around the world. Best seen in Egypt. Basically a higher civilization which were closer descendants to the Annunaki had higher technology and built many things we couldn't today especially in Egypt but around the globe, Ancient Sumer and more. Thats why we all have different versions of similar origin stories. That's why the hieroglyphs on the objects in Egypt were added after these objects were creating during renovation by dynastic Egyptians. Crude hand tool writings in objects they had zero idea how to build, they simply inherited. The Great Flood was a result of comrt impact that shattered glacial plate over north America that formerly extended to the north pole. Same glaciers that carved out the Great Lakes. This comet impact of impacts sent dust into atmosphere blocking the sun for an amount of time I can't remember like 11 years or more can't remember what was estimated. This killed alot of living things and also forced people underground or inside shelter that resulted in loss of technology and other things. Only hardgoods and some people who clearly were not engineers survived.

I'm getting a history major, so I read on all the amazing stuff that people did back then that we can't understand, and it finally dawned on me how it's possible. You can do this with a chisel, it's just super intricate and uncomfortable to the point that only a very devoted person could do it in modern times because it would take long, painstaking hours. So how did ancient people do these incredible, and intricate building projects on such a mass scale, that we just can't quantify it? Well I found a common thread, and you know what it is? You'll basically do whatever it takes for some angry despot not to chop your head off.

Hard does not mean unbreakable. The harder something is the easier it can be to shatter. That's why bronze and iron tools can cut stone- their more flexible nature, relatively speaking, means the stone breaks before they do. Another trick ancient stone workers used us bits of the same stone to shape it. Granite can break granite. Granite dust plus water can be used to smooth and polish granite. No mysteries here, move along please.
