Like 15 years ago I had a keychain version of Space Invaders and I thought it was the most nifty thing ever that somehow they put a whole game into something so small. Now you can get hundreds of complex games with real music and non-primitive visuals in about the same size. Tech is fun

@@undercoverduck The Steam Deck has about the same power as that of an Xbox Series S. I would dare to say that a Steam Deck 2 that comes out in 5-7 years will rival or even be better than the current gen consoles.

@Ayjop Unfortunately the original 3DS can't play PS1 games very well, so the New 3/2DS models probably take the crown of best portable emulator!

They should stick to the theme and make a "FunKey S XL" as their normal sized device. Then, they could make the "FunKey Home" as their actual XL sized.

@@JohnWickWorld There are plenty of times where Earthbound requires fast button pressing. Like when you gotta use lifeup asap before the health rolls down to zero because some enemies have a much higher critical hit ratio...

Yeah, looking at other emulators the software is the hardest part, they could reuse it on something bigger and with a 4:3 screen

Im guessing the reason why it runs so smooth, is because of how small is the screen, the hardware do not need to render high resolution

Awesome video dude! Love watching your editing skills get better and better over the years. I still remember the first video of yours I watched and it was just you sitting in front of a camera. One of my favorite new effects is how the music doesn’t kick in until there’s a visual cue to set it off. It’s a little detail but it adds a lot!

This is fantastic for anyone who wants to take their retro game library on the go. I can literally put this on my key ring and take it everywhere. I wish it were less expensive and had a proper aspect ratio. Honestly this video pushed me over the edge to purchase one. Excited for the easy user experience.

Makes me want to look into seeing if their emu software is available. My favorite form factors for handhelds has been the GBA and PSP. This user experience with something that shape and similar size would be my dream.

Aw man, lucky. I too ordered mine back in March but on the 22th, so i'm still waiting for mine to show up. The VS3 Processor component is part of the reason why it's taking awhile for them to send out cause they're waiting for the part, also covid too.

For the funkey s: you have to press FN key to turn on L2 and R2 buttons, for ps1 games, the L1 and R1 buttons act as the R2 and L2 buttons once FN key is pressed

@@alexsilva28 not that, but it’s plenty likely this was just as serious as the game gear micro. I think people were saying that super tiny keychain sized consoles actually are a big hit over in Japan.
