In the early eighties I was at art college in Middlesbrough (UK). As part of an Audio visual project I used A Forest as the background track. I created a series of photographs shot in a woodland near Carlisle with a beautiful girl in a long dress, I got good marks for the project, I was obsessed with the track and played in constantly on my record player, 12” vinyl. It is now 2019 and i don’t have the vinyl any more, but I am lying next to the girl in my project, I love this track, and the girl in my AV, more that words can say.

Bought this album 1980 ….song gets better with age ! If anyone doesn’t like this song they need serious help . I like all genres but this beats them all … driving back beat with superb guitar sound coming and going

Robert wrote this masterpiece in 1980 for their album SEVENTEEN SECONDS.ROBERT wrote this song after a dream which had no conclusion . Totally sensual and dreamy the lyrics describe a chase for a girl that exists only in Roberts mind she is unattainable and cant be reached. This song defines THE CURE .SENSUAL MYSTICAL ATMOSPHERIC .

I think that this non-existant Girl is also the subject in "Just Like Heaven" - - she isn't real save in Richard's Psyche. In fact, I think she is his 'alter-ego"; his other self that can only hint at. Well, I can see her. It's heavy Psychology that he sings of.
