Thankyou Jacob for doing a great job on the demo video of my truck and build!! And i love all the great comments from everyone! Yea i know their ole school but i got the 4 subs at a fraction of their cost new and it’s what subs we used to back in high school so i went with it.

john poee thanks bro I appreciate that! I spent alot of hours building it and taking my time to do it right. And yes I definitely plan to upgrade the subs but just not sure what brand to go with that will be close to the sound quality of bass that the jl’s produce

Yo bro i went with 3 15W0s and the same amp as u in the back of my extended cab Ram absolutely Love these subs i have always ran JL Audio since the 90s and never had a problem with them ever

Man things kinda brings me back. 20 years ago I had a bagged and bodied toy I did a blowthru with 4 jl 10w6 on a Memphis 1k. Good ol days lol.

You got to give jL credit. They make a good sub. Lots of technology you pay for. I'm currently running 2 13w7's on a wolfram 4500.1 in a custom built enclosure. I must say they take a beating.

I had two of the J L 13.5 they sounded deep. When I went ahead and bought some x-series 15in Sundown audios I love JL audio though a little power and they're loud

I had an Honda accord 2 12s W6 on a Jbl gts 600 with mtx Crossover that hit hard.One thing I learned you can have a junk amp u put that mtx Crossover it would always make the bass line or miss and highs sound quality at its finest.Thanks for the video good job on the box

DAMN, that is quite impressive for what it is lol imagine if he were to put some real subs in there like sundown Xv2's or zv5's i seriously cannot believe how hard this is hitting and how much flex he has for some 12W3's

Those W3's are getting down! This video amazed me! Especially with how low of power. I have a Orion HCCA 11,000.1 in my car, but I am only using about 1,500 watts because my 15" subs can't take anymore. I can't wait until I get 2 12's that can take the power 💪. I think with a smaller box in my trunk it will sound a lot better with 12's inside of 15's.

I have 2 12 inch JL audio w3 v2 subs powered by a mmats pro 600.1 and they sound amazing. These subs are very efficient and don’t need a lot of power to get loud and the quality is top notch.

Reminds me of my old 1500 ram blow thru with a 13.5w7. Those were the days, now I have 2xNSv4 15s in my 2000 excursion. Love JLs but there’s better subs out there for the money you get for JLs

You got to admit there is something about that JL deep bass thats awesome though. Especially with the w7s. Never heard as good sound quality from another woofer.

Clay Evetts yea the AE w7 I wired to .5 on the Slash 1k jls and it did really good. But the amount of money I spent for it was a lot. Don’t get me wrong JLs put out but idk about the price is my issue.

Westsidesnooker 2020 you might be right, may have been 1.5, but it’s been awhile since Iv had that system. But I remember when I was running it I had a lot of power issues because those slash takes a lot of power at a low ohm.

I had two 4ohm dvc jl w3's back in the day in a 92 lumina euro on a Rockford bd 1000 slamming hard as shit.. I miss those subs actually..

Nice beautiful system very awesome to see a JL Audio it would even be better if it had 2/JL Audio 1200/1v3 or 2 RD1500.1. The only reason why I recommend the JL Audio amps is because I have 4 12w6v3 sub in a blow through in a 1994 Chevy Silverado extended cab with the slash series JL Audio amps.

Long as you don’t go full tilt for very long times your good just back off once you see your voltage sagging! If it sags to much get more electrical. But yea I’m running DC audio 2k and 175.4 off tiny Hyundai alt and one XP3000 battery with dual runs of 1/0 into the amps. Never a flicker or anything.

I would defintely switch that skar 2k out if you want to hear how clean those w3s actually sound, not hating on the system at all but Ive had those rp amps they do NOT have clean power, they work but just have poor sound quality, after owning 3 its worth it to spend more money on better quality equipment especially considering those jls are sound quality subs.

I love JL audio my first system was to JL audio w1 the all white plastic ones I have those on a 600 watt rampage in the back of a 92 Ford escort hatchback and I thought I was banging Alpine for the win

Looks good bro. Listen I just ordered new 6 ohm coils so I can run 3 at 1 ohm stable. I do have two sets of 3 JL12W6's I have 3 old ones from the early 2000s and 3 12w6v2's. I'm wanting to make a box similar to what you have. Who do I talk to to find out the math for the box? I understand there's many variations. Just trying to find a good direction. Thanks.

What’s the model number on your amps? I have an exelon 500 also but it’s very old. Have it running 2 skar 12s. I’ve been trying to find someone else running the same amp.

MYRON Mcdowell mine definitely gets hot but I’m running 12s that are rated 2400 watts at 1 ohm so the amp only lets me get about 10 full tilt demos before it cuts off

I have 6 12w6s I'm putting new coils in. Probably going to do same thing and use 4. My other 2 I'm keeping to test out some coils I'm designing with bigger motors and thicker gauge coil wire. What are your measurements on the box? I never have built anything besides sealed. I was into it back in the 90s and got out of it.just getting back into it now

Now keep that build but replace those 4 subs with DC Audio 8 inch M3s. I'd say he'd be banging so much harder! I say that because if it sounds that loud its because of the box not those subs. You could put 8 inch DC subs and keep the same exact electrical plus that exact same skar amp and im sure he'd be banging much harder plus much cleaner bass for sure! Just my thoughts 👍👍

@quietloner sorry but youre completely wrong. Correct if youre talking about normal crappy 8 inch subs like Kicker or some crap like that... DC Audio 8s are not meant for small enclosures only. 😂🤣 those things can hit over 150 DB easily if put in the right box.

I'm blow away at the thrashing that setup does to that truck! W3s! Those subs aren't high wattage rated and definitely not exactly a choice for high spl flex they even have a steel basket! And on only a skar rp2k!! WTF? They must be super efficient...and I would assume are more a SQ sub. But I'm impressed my 2 15" XRs on 2k flex good but nothing like that. Guess I need a 4th order and I have a CAB45 on pre order coming in few months, sundown unofficial channel dynoed it at 5k certified that should up the flex some, if they don't take the power time for a performance review from PSI to up the handling to 2k each vs 1500wrms.

Some like sound quality as well.I have almost had every version. All just sound good. But the mighty w7 is the king for sure.

I had a set of jl w3s. Switched them out with a set of soundqubed hds3.1s which are 1200rms subs. I doubled the power and it sounded as good if not better and it smashed lows. All around cleaner and hit harder for 1/2 the price per sub. Then went to hdx soundqubed and game over... That sub is truly a beast.

Those JL sound great! IMO still JL overpriced. It's 2020 and you can get much more affordable huge bang for the money subs.

Ev subs and speakers are meant for sq , several companys make full range set ups using their ev models

W3s do not have the movement nor the frequency response that the evls have either i was a long time w3 owner model my model upgrading also have had several models of the w7 even the tri 8 box with the 3 3 ohm subs, great if you wanna buy a name but not if you wanna pull in the lanes and set records, no doubt his build was pretty but 50 hertz is not sq, its pitchy and punchy but no lows no mid bass all high range just what those subs are meant for and for people that have never ventured out of the crutchfields ordering catolog.....
