Which lightweight winter pants are the best? is a question we get very often. In this video, Matti presents a pair of winter pants that he used during the last winter season. Bergans Antarctica Expedition pants.
We can’t say that these are the best pants ever but for the money, they have been pretty good. Especially if we compare them with more expensive models such as Klättermusen Freke 2.0 which cost around 800 dollars.
Matti has used the lightweight Bergans expedition pants on daily basis for all outdoor work we do. Snowmobiling, dog sledding, working with firewood, camping and much more. The pants are not perfect and they have got some damage during the season, but we use clothes very rough.
These pants can be used for all kinds of outdoor winter activities like skiing, hiking with snowshoeing, and much more and as said before they are very lightweight.

I think no designer of professional worn clothes has ever worn them while doing the job they where designed for. Love your review. I have the same kind of problems with everything I wear. The most common stupidity I find is that the velcro patch is not long enough so its impossible to tighten the underside of your trousers or to tighten gloves or jackets at your wrists.

Du om någon borde testa köra Taiga produkter, såg du hade en mössa från taiga. Snordyrt för privatpersoner men kvalité utöver det vanliga, tack för bra videos!

I have had good experiences with the Klattermusen Brage on the Kungsleden, but that was just one trip, not an entire season.

I liked Klättermusen Freke but they change the model and maybe the material to Klättermusen Freke 2.0. One season with me is...hard for all clothes.. 😉 /Matti

Interesting review. A couple of safety pins or a little sewing will prevent the shoulder strap attachments from turning lengthwise. Also, sewing sealskin knee patches and butt patch will keep you drier and warmer. I have a youtube channel called Musher's Tails. I have a couole of videos showibg how I did it. I understand about the rear opening an bathroom issues. But at least it isn't a single piece outfit with a hood. It isn't much fun to get undressed to go #2 and then crap in your hood. Others will find it funny, though. Thanks for the video.

Det fanns tidigare även en liknande salopette med membran som hette Artic Expedition Salopette (Arctic Expedition var med membran, Antarctic Expedition utan membran). Tyvärr verkar Bergans slutat tillverka dem, hoppas verkligen att de lägger upp dem igen. Har en Arctic Expedition Jacket ur samma serie, det är den absolut bästa vinterturjackan jag haft än så länge. Har en äldre Bergans Salopette med membran som nu är 7 år gammal tror jag och som varit med på ett antal turer, still going strong.

Äntligen kom den! Har själv titta på dessa byxor länge, har varit skeptisk till att slänga ut 8tsk för ett par Freke! Tack för den bra sammanfattning. När köpte du dess, och vart i från? Anledning till att jag tittat på dess i snart 2 år är pga Drop-seat funktion som dina saknar, på Bergans egna hemsida står där att "Drop seat-funktion är praktisk när det är kallt"

I don't think it's dynema. I know that heavy-duty fabric gets this 'folds' in the same place over and over. That is one of several reasons for the damage on the heavy duty once... / Matii

Please, which dog is running along side the snowmobile at the beginning of this video? What brand/model of the grey long sleeve, hooded jacket you're wearing on your head/arms/torso? The dog is Johnny. Stinas Border Collie. The grey once is a wool hoodie. We can only buy this at Jokkmokk wintermarket. You see the guys in our video from the wintermarket. 😀 /Matti

This pants got a drop seat. You are supposed to zip it down on one side and then pull it to the side, this works perfect 😊

Good vid Matti. Informative. Tough taking all your clothes off to go to potty. Too cold for that. A dog doesn't shed his hair for it. I wear bibs all summer most of time. They have great storage areas on them. Just cotton though. You take care be safe. See you on the trail.

Hahahaaa... Hello! 1. We don't give away our dogs just like that. 2. IF we sell/ give away dogs, it's more like an adoption... We are super picky with who and where we send our dogs! A sleddog isn't that kind of dog that should end up as a random house dog. Usually they need a lot of activities and a special lifestyle from you... /Matti in Jokkmokk

Hei Matti - prøv mountain equipment polar jakke / bukse . Tror den vil passe dwg perfekt . Men vet ikke hvor mye huskey klør og tenner den tåler men 😅😅 puster bra og du blir ikke våt sp fort
