Great video. Just to balance some of the other comments, I thought his communication was very good and he was actually simplifying the swing processes to make it much easier to both conceptualize and apply.

I found it very easy to understand, especially if you had a club in your hands. Will save this and watch it over and over. Dude, put it in DVD or get your own channel! Thanks

Thanks for the vids but pleeeeeeease get a gimbal for your dynamic-movement shots. The shakiness is distracting and makes it hard to see some of the instruction.

Tried this swing from Eric yesterday and played extremely well. I notice his shoulder turn is not always 90 degrees and therefore easier to achieve

I don't think its too technical he is teaching a very natural movement. Lots of other work around this theme in different ways but what I like is Eric is focussing on an "easy" swing that's using gravity and motion without crazy angles and thoughts.

James Lovering yeah honestly everyone in the comment section saying it’s over complicated... it’s just letting gravity pull your arms down and using your body to pivot.

Golf Tips Magazine Feb. 2019 has an article about triggering the downswing with the hips, while dropping your arms and releasing the wrists from the slot. The goal- Feel your hips act like the string of a trap door, triggering the free-fall of the arms....
@mrm700
@mrm700 4 жыл бұрын
Dangerous advice. Yes, the hips move first BUT firing the hips can lead to what Tiger called his "ole" swing, where the hips go to fast leaving the club behind and thus stuck and under plane. The advice in this video is so good. If a player focuses on the advice the hips will naturally get out the way. If one is consciously tying to fire hips first, the tendency will be to fire them too much. An unwanted move.

Your grip has to work with how you move your body. The stronger your grip the more you have to have the ability to het your body open. If your grip it weak you can sling it more. It just has to match up

KZfaq golf instruction is getting way to complicated for the average recreational golfer that plays once or twice a week. All these positions and angles. A person stands over the ball with all these swing thoughts and freezes. Can't decide what to do. All we want to do is hit the ball half way decently and have some fun. I could care less if I'm at position 123 or abc. Just want to hit the ball and carry on. All this complicated information doesn't help in my opinion.

The technical stuff is for drilling on the range. If you take the time to be technical on the range and gain the understanding you actually think less about your swing during an actual round. You just wack the ball and have fun, because your mind and body will try to just do the stuff you practiced without your direct input. It's like a guitar player playing a solo live vs. practicing at home. In both instances the notes are the same and there's the same about of technical skill and understanding but when the guitar player is on stage and feeling good they don't even have to think, they just do it.

I have a friend who "pulls" his shots. He does this because he aims too far right. I've told him this for years but he prefers "spine angle", "hinge" all this superficial crap. All he has to do is aim more left and stick with it for 4 weeks and his pull shots, slices, etc. are gone.

Just enjoy your golf ~ If how ever your not enjoying golf because of bad shots some understanding is needed for self fixing ~ otherwise paying the Pro route is taken it can often be quicker ~ but the technique or way of teaching often don’t match the student style or ability.......just my two cents

I enjoy this channel but think this is why it could be better. So many different instructors are featured, all provided different approaches, swing thoughts, etc. Even Brendan gets caught up trying something new from each person, and seems to be working on a new swing thought or whatever every video. You’re right. That isn’t helpful. Consistency is what matters and that includes messaging and swing thoughts. Finding one instructor who you understand and see results with is far better than jumping around and trying something new every time you go out.

M Send he doesn’t. It happens all natural by weight shift and gravity taking over via centripetal force. (a force that acts on a body moving in a circular path and is directed toward the center around which the body is moving.)

@teddythodo3302

Jeremy Yoder it’s actually quite the opposite. This man is telling you to let gravity pull your arms down. Gravity is the worlds oldest element and we’re built in with the best gravity adaptation abilities ever. Arms fall, body pivots. Pretty easy, I thought. Unless I am missing something more technical here?
@hobbs2005
@hobbs2005 5 жыл бұрын
@@teddythodo3302 I dont think that's the point of these posts. I think we all get the gravity aspect, but when it takes 7 minutes to communicate what you did quite clearly in three sentences...that's where the disconnect begins.
@propilot7428
@propilot7428 5 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Yoder the game is technical. There is a lot of talk about just swinging naturally. I believe anyone can step up and hit great shots by just swinging it. Trouble is when you miss it the ball goes into the bushes and your scorecard has a seven. Ben Hogan spent his whole life understanding his movements with the idea of controlling his misses. This guy said the same in a previous video. He’s a 50 times winner on a pro circuit (not the pga tour) but that means he’s an awesome golfer.
