SERIOUSLY!!!!! Not even joking!!! Who the hell told this girl that she should duck down a full foot to get a good solid firing platform? WHY DOESN'T ANYONE FIX HER FIRING STANCE????
@USCCAOfficial
@USCCAOfficial 7 жыл бұрын
John, there's nothing wrong with Beth's stance. It might not work for you, but it does work for Beth. No two people will have the exact same stance and not everyone will be comfortable with the Weaver stance. A crouching stance is a solid base and has different tactical advantages than a Weaver. Both are viable defensive stances. The point of this video was to give some training ideas on how to improve your follow up shots.

Well, I guess we'll see how well that stance works when a target moves laterally or closer to her. Just because my dog is more comfortable going to the bathroom in the house doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. At 4 yards an attacker would be on her before she had the chance to draw, bend her knees, and push that pistol way out in front of her. 4 yards is basically 4 steps. When she pushes that gun THAT far out in front of her, she loses precious time. At 4 yards, you should be drawing while taking a step BACK from the target (into a Weaver stance) to give you that extra bit of distance and time to get the gun into the fight. If you aren't teaching people how to use a gun to properly to defend themselves, then what the hell are you doing? I was in the Marines and I'm a 4th award expert. I don't claim to be an instructor, and I sincerely hope that these guys don't claim to be instructors either, but I took a girl that never picked up a gun in her life, and after about 8 hours of basics and dry firing, and about 250 rounds, she can shoot groups half this size at twice the distance. We haven't even COME CLOSE to being confident enough in her proficiency to start drills like this. I could write an essay on all the things wrong with this video. The bottom line is that the more muscle that you have to use to take a shot, the less accurate you are going to be. Have Beth hold her shooting position for 10 minutes, then put her in a Weaver stance for 10 minutes and ask her which one is more comfortable and which stance she was able to keep her front sight on target the best, then go from there. Obviously she is a new shooter, and I don't blame her stance on her, I blame that completely ineffective stance on everyone that didn't tell her that her stance will never be successful against someone that is trying to hurt her. This is the kind of video that gives people that false sense of security that either gets them seriously hurt or worse. You should be ashamed.

@@logankeen9478 Thanks! These guys are just grifters that want to play all day and make money. I feel bad for that girl because they are giving her false confidence, like Karate. She doesn't understand that the bad guy is going to be on top of her at the exact moment that she finally gets her hand on her pistol, then he is going to take it from her.

Used to watching videos special ops dudes teaching shooting lessons. I appreciate what USCCA does but most of the shooters in their videos would be trampled by the time they had their finger on the trigger. I understand the old adage "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" has some credit behind it, but it seems like these people stopped listening after "Slow is smooth" lol

I loo forward to the Tac. Tuesday clips. While I may not be able to practice all of them, it is still god information to have. One more tool in the tool box for when things go sideways. The range I use will not normally let you draw/fire unless there is only one or two people there and the RO knows you, if not under live fire, its important to practice drawing dry firing. Does she bend a bit much? Maybe, I'm not that flexible anymore, but she kept them on target with reasonable speed. I believe that is the important part. Nice job.

Randy Jones Sorry Randy, but watching videos WILL NOT improve your gun handling skills. Watching a video of someone running a drill is NOT another tool, in the tool bag. That's like saying "I watch the PGA every Sunday. By the end of the summer, I'll be shooting in the 60's!!!!! lol Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Sorry.

oh boy :/ Just terrible all the way through. A 6 inch group at 4 yards is not a "Nice tight group". Besides, she's not shooting from 4 yards, she's squatting down, leaning forward, and pushing her pistol to about the 3 yard line which makes her groups all that much worse. Her pistol is about 9 feet from the target and THAT'S her group? Maybe you can do a video with her using a Weaver stance, proper sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control and see how much better she shoots? My girlfriend just learned how to shoot 2 months ago and she shoots 3" groups at 7 yards with a Glock 17 (and she's smoking hot). Maybe you should invite her to do one of these segments?
