I’m from Ukraine and I’ve worked on my English and accent, for the most part, on my own, but you can find out and trace my story by watching my videos. The English language when spoken very quickly seems like an alien language to non-native speakers. When I found out Ana wasn't a native speaker... I just thought... How was that possible? Wow! This is proof that the effort and dedication are so worth it! Congratulations Ana.

Waaooo Anna!! This lesson was a good one!!! In our own native languages, do the same, because some foreigners pointed out that in my country, we speak Spanish non-stop. But in the case of the actor that spoke fast and with some accent, it required a lot of good listening. Super useful lesson here! I particularly appreciate your tip on drilling/repeating a sentence slow first, and then gradually pick up speed. For learners: your first objective should be to get the pronunciation of a single phrase or sentence close to a perfect level (perfectionism is okay here because we're just dealing with a short sentence, you can get there in seconds) Then, once you master the slow pronunciation, repeat it a few times, each time with a slightly faster pronunciation. This takes your mastery of the slow pronunciation to the mastery of the authentic, real life speech tempo. You can feel the improvement in real time.

To make it more complicated, we usually reduce "her" to just "er" because the h in pronouns is usually dropped in fast speech. Great presentation of reductions and linking!

@@xFoxlUklVnzlx3 For three years I've been practising method called "shadowing" devised by Alexander Arguelles. I suggest using the full version of his method, which is thoroughly described on his KZfaq channel. Don't just use a minimal version of his method. That is, do more than just phonetic repetition. Apply his method to a T. Sometimes this method is arduous but in the end it's very efficient. Good luck.

Problem solved, just listening English everyday and then choose one matter that you like and follow speaking what the KZfaqr say(shadowing). Do this several times and you are going to start speaking

Hi Anna, new here and just sub'ed . Love the way you teach. I understand about 90% I speak way less than that. I took ESL classes and was getting ready for GED but i quit it when started a family and got full time job.
