When I picked up Druanti the Arch-Revenant for Age of Sigmar, I knew it would be a great model to work on glazing smooth gradients. Join me, as I explore the world of glazing smooth gradients. After all, who doesn't want to improve the minis we play our table top games with??

I've been painting minis for awhile now, and am probably somewhere in the beginner-intermediate range, but I've always struggled with blending, and glazing in particular. This was the most clear, best demonstrated glazing tutorial I've seen yet. Showing how subtly each layer goes on, instead of just talking about thinning paint and then showing the final product, was a huge game changer for me on understanding how this works. Unfortunately, after watching this and your Hulk video, I do have to tell you: you're never allowed to say you're not a very good painter again. Sorry.

I sincerely appreciate that. Thank you! I still don't believe I'm a very good painter though ;)

I've never painted a mini before, but the attention to detail you give to your minis is wonderful! Amazing work!!!

Adding the paints used to the description could be a good idea. I think you said: Grey Seer > Light Sea Grey *Vallejo?* > Akhelian Green *contrast?*

Just saw this video 11 months later, and this helps me a lot (since i paint nighthaunts) to give that blending and glazing effect on blacks and dark colors (since well, nighthaunts being nighthaunts). Thanks for this.

Others have shared the same feelings; I'm beginner-intermediate and all other videos just seem to be a whole leap away from my current potential. This video was entertaining, informational, and so enjoyable! Can't wait to binge all your videos and watch the many more to come

Another great paint job Jarrid!! I always wondered what the miniatures were for, so cool you are using them for the actual game! Would be cool to see a whole board or map set up!

Dude you've got some amazing skills (even if it's seemingly sacrilegious to dilute paints with water lol). If you ever have an appetite to work on a miniature warehouse we should collaborate on something!

Awesome video, Love your explanation of everything as you went through. Personally I'd also love a bit longer to admire the finished product at the end. 20 seconds is way less credit than it deserves :)

Dilute paints with WATER? Really? Looks like you have no idea how acrylic paints work at all.

What would you use instead of water? Just wondering.
@chadcaughmann7898
@chadcaughmann7898 Жыл бұрын
@@maxxammax0 - you can dilute acrylic paints with water if you want. It’s really not THAT big of a deal, and is just fine for 95%+ of painters out there (probably 99%+). Water will achieve dilution just fine unless you are trying to win a high end painting competition where the judges are looking for the most minute of details to criticize. Water will lead to a nearly imperceptible amount of chalkiness in the paint to the vast majority of people. Most painters/gamers just aren’t THAT concerned about such minuscule criticisms. But if you are trying to go beyond that level of painting, and wonder what the “proper” thing to thin your paints with if you for some reason have a problem with using just water…the proper answer is a painting medium that is similar to that used in whatever brand of paint you are using. If you are looking to make it easy on yourself…the different brands of hobby paints frequently sell their various different types of mediums to go along with their various paint ranges. I own several of these mediums, and I STILL use water most of the time due to convenience….and because it honestly really just doesn’t make THAT big of a difference that will be noticeable by the vast majority of people that will ever be looking at your finished work (unless you are a competition painter). I hope that helps.
