My Dayz loop. Spawn, walk for 10 minutes eat the one fruit you get, find nothing else and eventually starve. Rinse repeat. Yeah I don't know what I'm doing.

Train tracks for a rock or use a pick or sledge on big boulders and you get rocks

Those fruit trees are a real life saver man, thanks for the tip. Bought this game yesterday and kept dying over and over, I still die in an hour or two but with the fruit at least I have a fighting chance. And I'm slowly improving, don't intend to give up any time soon. Liked and subscribed!

Starvation is my biggest issue in DayZ, I always check trees and I never, NEVER seen so much fruit.. I've even checked every tree in an orchid... I didn't have enough calories and died right there under that druit tree.

I’ve tried all these methods and I haven’t actually survived without dying to starvation eventually. I’m pretty sure the developers have just made an unplayable game.

I window shop as well.i never starve.luck not sure but I can get from coast to tisy in a hour pretty regularly.stay moving and eat everything you find as you find it.better to store calories then horde food.once your starving that one can of beans doesn't get you far!

First time playing this game. I ran around for 20 minutes and couldn’t find a thing. I then found a pair of green traki bottoms. I then spent the next 5 minutes running away from a zombie with the green traki bottoms in my hand as I still hadn’t managed to work out how to equip them. I out ran the zombie and managed to equip the green traki bottoms. I then found a hat and equipped the hat. I then died of starvation

I love this tutorial, and while Window Shopping is quick and efficient - I love going into the houses to check. Not only do you cover the Blind-spot Loot locations, but you also deny any potential snipers watching a free shot on you.

2:45 I found every 10th kiosk a long rifle or a shotgun (depending on the region and luck) on the roof (only the ones with a ladder of course. More often than not you can find ammo up there too. So if you're desprate or feel safe then you should bother looking up there from time to time.

I never thought to pick up the rotten fruit, usually I get inland fast enough and get a hunting rifle in time to hunt some animals before I starve but my favourite snack is to gather mushrooms while walking through the forest instead of running, decent for hydration as well as topping up your calories.

I know this might sound crazy, but i think my game is actually broken. I’ve been playing DayZ for one year and its been great, i started out on official servers, and as some of us usually do, i quickly switched over to modded servers when i saw how impossible finding food was on official servers. (Ive been back on official servers for about a month) I thought this might be a modded DayZ thing, maybe the servers had fruit spawns disabled, but here and there i look for fruit and never find anything. In the past it was the same regardless of what server i was playing on, but til this day in all my time playing, ive never found a single fruit underneath trees, no matter where or how hard i look. I think my game is just broken.

From what I've gathered it tends to be 2 camps of thought on it. 1. Shoot first as questions later, most people tend to be very defensive and will not hesitate to shoot you even when you have nothing due to the loss for them and the benefit of killing a geared survivor for a freshly spawned character. Alot of people know Where to go for weapons and how to get them quick so don't be surprised if that noob in a t-shirt you saw comes at you with a shotty and tries to kill you. 2. The more friendly types choose a more Restrained Attitude when it comes to spawn areas like coast and some cities. They'll engage in VoIP And ask whether or not your going to attack them, they will not hesitate to kill you if you seem sus but if they think your chill then they might give you some food and clothing they have spare. These people are usually more in it for the player interactions and faction gameplay so they don't care as much about dying. Secret 3rd school is the school of chaos people like myself who would rather mix things up and have no care about dying as long as it gets them a laugh. For instance I walked up to a freshly the other day and asked him for his shoes and traded him some shit for them. Then walked away sniffing on VoIP just to see buddy's reaction. But quite frankly you do you if you play you'll slowly develop into one of these 3 trains of thought naturally and never any shame in killing someone, 9 times out of 10 in day z they would do the same if given the chance. Just remember one thing and that's that you never own anything in day z you only get your turn playing with it lol.

I hated this game when I first got it, I died repeatedly, everything was clunky and buggy, and I couldn't find ANY food and water. I just couldn't see the point. I'm now on my first long-surviving character (after countless failed deaths) and it's intense!

Idk they rust so much easier to loot food. I like that over this. I understand the survival part but it's not worth spending hours just looking for simple food. To me that's not worth my time but the gun play on here and graphics with zombies makes it worth the food fetch tho

Great stuff. I don't think Livonia has fruit spawns, though. If there are, I don't remember finding any early on so I've spent a few hundred hours since then without even looking for any.

I have just started playing DayZ on Xbox. It is Brutal! I never find fruit like this, when I walk to the trees I check my vicinity and there is zero. I found 1 chicken but couldn’t find a knife or any stones to craft one. Died 3 times due to starvation

What's the best way to dry food? I've found inconsistent answers around, the wiki talks about temperature but I'm not sure how to control temperature while cooking? I'd love a way to reliably dry food.

I usually dry my fresh hunted animals steak by using the stove or fire place that you can find in almost every house. Just gather some wood and tree bark and start the fire, make sure u place your steak, fruit in the amoking space not cookin space.

I try to cook apples in fireplaces inside. But then they say “baked” it won’t let me grab them and put them in my inventory, causing them to become burnt . Why is that ?

I eat, and one block later I'm dying of malnutrition. Literally. No exaggeration. I have been playing for a few dayZ (see what I did there) and have died 98% of the time from starving to death. It only takes a few minutes after eating that I have to eat again. I think my character has a tapeworm. Does anyone else have this problem on the Xbox one?
