The ever popular Improved Production category returns to Mount Panorama, this time as part of the support bill for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. A full field of cars from around the country, representing a multitude of makes such as Ford, Holden, Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan to name a few, is set to do battle for seven fast paced laps as they all race to be the King of Improved Production racing at Bathurst.

No Magna this year since it had that massive stack last year, spewin, I loved watching that car put up a great fight against the v8’s & other n/a 6’s

How competitive are magnas? Theyre the same size as a commodore or falcon but with two less cylinders

1 2 3 Four Five yeah surprising actually. Even when they were new, a manual 3.5 Magna was line ball with an ss in acceleration, and quicker than an Xr8. They’re very grunty the 6G7 motors in them. Plus a bit less weight than the others and also less drive train loss of the rear drive cars. Whatever it is they go hard. The enthusiasts in the clubs fit the 3.8 version from the Mitsubishi 380 into the Magna’s, and because they dont need to meet the anti pollution standards the 380 did, they develop close the 200kw in the Magna, vs 175kw in the 380. They keep up with a stock 6.0 VZ ss. The Improved production Magna’s have their 3.8 bored out to 4.0, cammed & tuned, so they hammer

1 2 3 Four Five not a whole lot of footage around unfortunately, the Magna boys tend to keep to themselves, they usually arnt interested in following the pack. 1 2 3 Four Five I’ve always liked this one, footage is around 12 years old thou. It’s an original Ralliart model (500 numbers cars built) But fitted with a supercharged kit Sprintex designed for Magna in the early 2000’s. Civic was not built by Cox Motorsport. They bought a National Championship winning car and set it up to suits Jordy's driving style of pushing very hard 😁

I understand there was better racing behind the lead cars, but to hardly show them was pretty ordinary. We are race fans and we want to see that big Falcon doing 296km down condrod.

GTR??!! Are you nuts!!?? Motor goes BOOM!!! Inferior Japanese technology. It was maybe good 12 years ago. But now? To heavy, a pig in the corners and the reliability is horrid.

I sadly have to agree. It's very hard to watch with sound, because he talks like he doesn't get his teeth apart. And he's making the biggest commentators mistake: Only talking about what you see anyway. Commentating is not about telling you what's happening, but telling you why it's happening.
