Morning Dave! Great mods - thanks for sharing. The thumb must make it much easier to manage materials. Did not know you could get a separate seat. Great info - have a good one!

I think the control for the thumb is a rational approach. I was debating a hydraulic cylinder for my factory thumb but was stumbling over the control cost. Think I will follow your lead - thanks- great video

Thanks Gregory....I've learned recently that the manual states not to use the 3 point or rear remotes when the BH is attached. Please check with your dealer before considering this approach. I am not an expert on hydraulics and don't know why Kubota is stating this.

Great mods. I have a 2610 with bh77 as well. My previous Kubota had the separate seat and when I bought the LX I was hoping the seat would be included with the backhoe.I’m not a fan of the swivel seat either so I’m going to get the extra seat .

Hey there John! I think you will be pleased with the dedicated seat. I cannot believe that Kubota doesn't offer this option when configuring tractor. One thing I forgot to mention in the video, is you will need to change your control levers to the straight ones. I was told that both the straight and curved control levers come with the backhoe. My dealer had extras and gave them to me.

Well Dave, my "kubogy " had & still does have it's problems. The BH92 on a Mx5200 First acted like a "slow-motion" cramped "tinker-toy". I jacked up the front " buck-board " ( Operator's seat) 4". Moved the backhoe seat up 3" & 4" back ( not easy- ROPS bars in way). Changed out 2 Main hydraulic hoses & fitings from loader assembly's feed, resulting in a 40% in speed & able to use 4 Controls at once---just like a "REAL BACKHOE". A Mecanical BH92 Thumb-@ 950.°°$, a BH 92 quick coupler-@ 700.°°$, & a 24" QC bucket @ 1200.°°$, & a 12" QC bucket @ 900.°°$. All replacing the original PITA. 18" pin on bucket. Just have to "Rig" a hydraulic cylinder & valve for the thumb to "Eliminate the PITA. " mechanical slider linkage ( that is never in the right spot & gets moved 25-50 times during a 3 hour adventure). That after-market "BX " Thumb is a piece of JUNK, for your application-- Too small, no interlocking teeth & just Not Right. My suggestion is send it to the "Scrape-heap" for Safty & production reasons, and replace it with a 700.°°$ Factory Kubota unit---you won't regret it. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. I just got "jacked" by the U-tube police. Said a Whole lot more helpfull information.

Hey Donald thanks for the suggestions. I couldn't agree more that the thumb is too short. When looking at thumbs for the BH77 the OEM Kubota thumb was the same way. I may look at modifying it in the future. Can you please elaborate more on how you were able to increase hydraulic flow to your backhoe to increase speed and functionality? I am interested because I feel it is too slow. Thanks
@donaldstrishock3923

@@sweatequitylife Well "when looking" at a factory BH77 thumb LOOK no further. They "inter-meash-a-lat" with EVERY kubogy Bh bucket--- NOTHING else will work without EXTREME modification .Just bite the bullet ($$$) buy a kubota quick-coupler ,their bucket & thumb---it IS the ONLY good solution! As for "ramping up" the speed ( not power) change the hoses, fittings ( or drill out larger) from to & frow from the hydraulic block & loader valve ONLY. This "proceedure" spead UP my BH92 SYSTEM ( very-similar) by 40%. The "process "was time consuming ( fittings swap) & only cost 150$ == priceless. Happy 4 leaver (at once) profomance. Kubogy does this "slow-motion" for "home-lowners " Safety.

I have a B3200 w/ the BH77 and I hate the swivel seat. I kept the standard seat mounting bracket (dealer was going to toss it). I wonder if the B3200 has enough space for both seats.

Hi Dave, Thank you for posting. Great info here. I appreciate your doing the research for us. Would the BXpanded longer thumb work for your setup or would there be an interference issue with the longer fork tines on the thumb? I love the BH77 dolly. Great mod. What is the height of the wheels you are using. I would love to build something similar. Thanks, Dan
@sweatequitylife
@sweatequitylife 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Daniel! I have wondered the same thing regarding the longer thumb and in BXpanded description it says the shorter one is consistent with the OEM. If I had it to do over, I may have ordered the longer one. The diameter of the wheels are 8" and 9.5" total height. I have them bolted to two 2x4s. I do have the larger tires on the LX which would increase the height of the backhoe. Appreciate you watching!

Great Video Dave, so I have the new LX3310 and BH77 and thinking about doing the same thing to my tractor since I have all the same setup as you except i have the mechanical thumb directly for kubota when i purchase the backhoe, my questions for you is how long did you end up making your hydraulic lines from the cylinder to the rear remote ? would save me having to figure that out :)
@sweatequitylife
@sweatequitylife Жыл бұрын
Thanks Claude! It's been awhile since doing this, but I believe the longer hose was close to 14ft. There are so many different pathways for hose routing and hose length would vary depending on this. I would encourage you to run a piece of rope from the thumb to rear remotes using the path you will be using and add an an additional few feet for the soft bends and extra needed when you disconnect your BH and pull away from tractor to disconnect.

Great video. Due to my limited space I am definitely thinking of making a dolly, like yours. Then I saw your dolly already built and carrying your BH77 quite nicely. Could you please let me know what your tractor height (to where the BH77 pins fit in to your tractor) and some rough dimensions of your dolly build plan? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks David! Important note - my 2610 has the oversized tires and makes the backhoe ride higher. Bottom of pins on mine are 16" from floor. I would specifically measure your backhoe at the base of the stabilizers to the floor and subtract 2" and make that the height of dolly. Will have to consider board thickness, stacking and wheel height. The tractor end is 2 stacked - 2X6s 38" long. The bucket end is 2 stacked - 2X6s 22.5" long. The V is 2X4s spaced so that the backhoe base of boom will sit in between when lowered and attached to the bottom side of 2X6s.

Thanks Nick! Hopefully this will help you...Important note - my 2610 has the oversized tires and which increase the height of mounts. Bottom of pins on mine are 16" from floor. I would specifically measure your backhoe at the base of the stabilizers (this is your pivot point) to the floor and subtract 2" and make that the height of dolly. Will have to consider board thickness, stacking and wheel height to achieve the desired height. I went with HD wheels that are rubber and filled with foam because of a lip at base of garage doors. They are more forgiving with little obstacles. Wheel height is 9.5" and ordered from Amazon. The tractor end is 2 stacked - 2X6s 38" long. The bucket end is 2 stacked - 2X6s 22.5" long. The V is 2X4s spaced so that the backhoe base of boom will sit in between when lowered and attached to the bottom side of 2X6s. Overall, I wouldn't change anything with this particular dolly. It is solid and has worked great and makes hook up much easier. I would consider making another one that is a 2 piece (separate dollies for base and boom/bucket). The only reason for it would be that it may fit in my garage space better with the boom angled at 90 degrees. Let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks for watching!

@@sweatequitylife Thanks for the help…I have the oversized tire setup as well since I will never add a belly mower. I feel the oversized tires fit the tractor size better. I understand what u mean about trying to make a 2 piece setup to save in room. I have the cab version so my backhoe assembly is about 10” longer because of separate seat. I’ll try to figure something out with turning backhoe to a 90°. Thank u, I’ll keep u posted. Nick from PA as well!!!

I’m not sure anybody really knows about the seat, great for letting us know. Any issues getting the parts from the dealer?
@sweatequitylife
@sweatequitylife 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew! I did not have any issues with parts. I did know that I would be using this seat before delivery of the tractor and they knew not to change the seat brackets. Anyone considering this afterwards should ask their dealer for original seat brackets that were replaced with the swivel brackets. Also, the backhoe is shipped with curved and straight control levers. You will want to use the straight levers. Other than that, the holes are there and is pretty much a plug and play. I did this approximately 2 years ago and at that time, I tried to order the tractor and BH77 with this configuration, but the only way to get the dedicated seat was with the extended subframe for cabbed versions. Hopefully they changed this. Appreciate you watching!

@sweatequitylife 7 ай бұрын
Hi Michael, I would recommend attaching BH to tractor and measuring the distance between ground and bottom of outrigger arms folded up (this will be the pivot point). Then you will have to find castor wheels that will work with no less than 3” of wood to get you to that height you want. I would say 2” of clearance will be fine. You can always shim up from there if needed.
