I cant seem to straighten my board out afterwards. I can easily land fakie after boardslides, but i want to be able to land straight back how i was. I try to counter rotate, but i still land at the 90 degree position. Help

Any tips for overcoming the fear of getting started with front boards? I'm pretty confident with my back boards, but haven't sacked up to go frontside yet. There's just something about sliding backwards that's really scary!

I’ve been practicing this on boxes. Can I do this on round features with a rocker profile board? It seems like the boards rocker profile will force me off the round feature

I just can't understand what is frontside and what is backside
@vdes05
@vdes05 4 жыл бұрын
frontside is when you approach as the rail is in front of you and backside is when it's in your back
@TheTrinityskater
@TheTrinityskater Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t matter what side of the rail your on, it’s when your on the rail, if your board sliding and your back is going down the rail it’s backside because your back is going downhill. Frontside are the easy ones cause your front and eyes are facing down the rail. This guys has his terminology wrong. I been skateboarding my whole life and I’m telling you the way the announcers when I competed called it.
@con5tant
@con5tant Жыл бұрын
@@TheTrinityskater You are wrong and definitely have not been skateboarding your whole life if you don't know the difference between a front and backside boardslide lol. How you approach the rail also affects what the slide is called, ie: lipslides.
@seangraham9642
@seangraham9642 4 жыл бұрын
Tell him to twist his lower body first lol it's not that he's twisting too much. It's a back 180 that you stop rotation from by twisting your upper body. So...start your back one normal, as soon as you are about 45 degrees counter rotate your upper body to stop at 90 and look down the rail. This is why presetting your shoulders on a ride on box closed (like a back 1) then shuffling your legs (backside) then countering with opening your shoulders to stop the rotation It's not that he is twisting too much its that his concept of what the trick is is wrong.

Is this not a backside boardslide? In skateboarding it'd be backside..
@SnowboardAddiction

In snowboarding which side refers to the direction your body is facing rather than the direction of travel, In this case body facing uphill is a Frontside Board Slide, If your body is facing downhill that would be a Backside Board Slide. This gets slightly more confusing once you hit street style features as then you would be refering to the side of the feature that you approach from..

No it would not front side board slide is when you approach the rail with your toes facing the rail back side is when you approach the rail with your heels Get fact checked ma boy

This is actually a backside boardslide. Might want to update post. You might want to watch some comp. Videos and listen to what commentator calls it.
