​@@joehobo6039 he lives in nashville tho.. like not to say hes never bought things second hand, but you cant really live in a city without a certain threshold of income. of course you can still be poor in a city, but rural and urban places simply have different basic living standards regardless of what state you live in, so its a bit regressive to make generalizations like that based on state. however that being said, i do feel like regardless of income joe would personally prefer to buy second hand because its simply more sustainable and environmentally friendly and hes the kind of guy that cares about that

yeah, and that moment when Impulse realized cub still has a ghost vote, and he only needs 2 - his and cub's - so he doesn't actually need to convince anyone, he's already won. You can hear his voice relax at that point.

By technically he could have nominated Iskale as well... he just needed the 2 votes....

at the end Cub having the ghost vote to protect Imp made the whole last day nomination drama pointless too...as soon as Ren died the game was over just well played all around by both of them

@@davidhodgson1011 It wasn't pointless though. Ren still had his ghost vote. But because X didn't vote for Impulse, 2 votes were enough to tie.

I think it was more that Iskall was confused and though that if he didn’t vote X Imp would die and he wasn’t sure if he was Imp or not so he figured if he was mayor it would be best to keep him alive, like you get what I mean..?

True, but also wouldn't have mattered. Cub's ghost vote meant even if Iskall hadn't voted, it would have been 2-to-2. So unless Xisuma nominated Iskall, which he had no reason or indication of doing, the votes would be tied, no executions would happen, and Impulse would win by killing at night. So by that point in the game, Impulse had the win on lock.

Yes, Cubfan135 saving his vote to the very end was a great idea to win.

​​​​@@IceMetalPunkeven if Xisuma nominated Impulse, Ren already used his one vote so even if both Iskall and X vote, it would've been tied. Impulse had the win locked as soon as he nominated someone, he could've kept his promise and nominated Iskall for fun even

Impulse didn't convince Iskall, Iskall just realised that since the vote was tied already, he would lose if Impulse was the demon (as both got 2 votes), so not voting is losing so he went with the 0.001% chance of X being evil and voted anyway because he quite literally had nothing to lose

That was the checkmate moment and you could practically hear Impulse sitting back in his chair afterward. I honestly would have loved if he said "Yeah, I'm the demon and Cub is my minion, and there's nothing you can do about it now!"

@@cassieo It's actually "Blood on the Clocktower" -- check out the link in the description. There are a lot of social deduction games like Mafia, but they're not all literally Mafia.

So, I have been playing Blood on the Clocktower for a few years, and have storytold quite a few games now. I found Cleo's decision to change Virgin to Sacrifice interesting. She's not wrong, and it works just fine, but it is an interesting decision. I look forward to seeing what else is in store, as I still have over an hour in this amazing episode.

Just gonna say, even before I got to this section of the clocktower play, reading this comment made me giddy to watch the end :D

While I liked Impulse’s performance, I for one could tell he was lying. You could hear it in his speech patterns. I’m betting Pearl could’ve figured it out.

No as soon as X didn't vote for impulse he won. Pretty sneaky to promise X not to nominate him and then go back on his word.

​​@@Jisto11 it was safer for him to continue his suspicion of xisuma rather then suddenly switch gears to iskall and reveal himself early. he might have been guaranteed to win at that point, but its always better to hold on to all your cards just in case the unexpected happens. a key element in being able to lie well, is being able to convince yourself first. impulse probably never even thought of switching to iskall because he had already dedicated himself fully to the role of mayor. iskall's suspicion of x from early on, his aggressiveness in accuations and solid defenses, plus his inability to be killed by impulse, meant that he was far more useful to impulse alive than dead. meanwhile xisuma simply had too many holes in his story to be anything more than an easy target. impulse almost certainly realized this early on, and once he begun playing mayor in earnest, all of his decisions were made from that perspective. he played more like a mayor would, not like an imp-and thats what got him the win in the end. this is also why he killed ren as the game was finishing up and not xisuma, as ren would be much harder to accuse or convince and didnt provide any benefit to being alive. unfortunately something about this action made ren realize the game was now massively in favor of impulse, but at that point it was far to late to stop him. i think the moment it started to click for ren is after it came out that xisuma was the saint and impulse immediately presented the reminder that the demon can lie about their role. the fact that he died immediately after that was probably what cemented his suspicion. impulse might have also realized he slipped up, which wouldve contributed to his decision to kill ren. if ghosts werent able to talk in this, im confident impulse wouldve won with zero accusations

He was the saint, he couldn’t let the demon know, and he couldn’t do bad, so he couldn’t lie or deceive

Whenever I play these games I act super hard like I don’t know what’s going on and everyone just accepts that I’m bad at them. It’s paid off once when nobody believed I understood the game well enough to be the bad guy effectively, and I won haha

I think he misunderstood the role "saint" as someone who can't lie and only tell the truth, at the same time doesn't want the devil to find out he's one.

Maybe it is a new game for him. He need time to adapt and learn the game.

The only flaw with Impulse's story is that everybody forgot they executed Cub and thought he was evil. They didn't know this for certain, but they were pretty sure they got one evil person: then when the game didn't end, they were a little confused, forgetting that there can also be Minions. Cub never accused anyone and never voted for anyone unless Impulse voted too. If they had picked up that Cub was mirroring Impulse's movements, as opposed to mirroring X's movements, I think they'd have got Impulse, but they missed that scrap of information (tbf, it took me watching Cleo's then Impulse's vid, aka the entire thing twice to pick up on it) Absolutely amazing gameplay, Iskall was the absolute MVP of Town but Impulse was just a tiny bit better. Also yes I love for the alternate world when Impulse's speech is "Actually, I'm evil. And Cub is evil. I nominate Iskall. Myself and Cub will vote for him. Either X votes, in which case Iskall is executed and I win, or X does not vote and it ties, and I win. Checkmate!" xD

Oh yeah, that style of game is difficult to understand without actually playing or at least seeing a game played. This one and Town of Salem are more fun because of all the different roles, but it can be confusing learning what the roles actually do haha

Town of Salem, Mafia, Among Us, Blood on the Clock Tower; all of them are similar "social deduction" games
