Alcohol isn't so bad. I have been drinking at the same goth bar every Friday for the last 22 years. But I wouldn't call it empty. It's not the booze that did him in. For someone with ADHD, these meds calm them down, decrease impulsivity, increases ability to sustain attention and make clearer, more thoughtful decisions, all because their dopamine-deprived brain no longer has to try resolve the dopamine-supply issue on its own. Whoever prescribed that medication to you was negligent, a psychiatrist should’ve been reviewing you frequently upon starting the medication to discern its safety/efficiency and should’ve immediately canceled the prescription in response to those side effects.
