Interesting. Now catching up with the 1989 Group C Mercedes/Sauber C9. Went from tube frame to a "carbon tub" (C9). The general aero profile is C9. Cadillac is 600hp vs. C9 was 750hp from 5.0L detuned from 900hp for endurance racing; full disclosure C9 was dual-turbos. Hit 248mph at end of LeMans straightaway in '89, which is why there is now a Chicane at the end of that straight, at LeMan, i.e. to slow down the C9 and subsequent high speed racers.

oldcarboater c9 lost to the 787b. And the 5.0 has no where near the efficacy as a modern GM 6.2 ohv. So it would not go as far in a endurance race. And lose the the Cadillac. Areo efficacy would suck compared to the dpi as well. If the c9 lost agents the Mazda it would get destroyed by this.

Love these techy videos! Please do these video for all of the DPi and also the GTLM cars!! p.s. Can someone tell me the different between the M6 GTLM and GTD? visually they look the same!

Lawrence Lo yeah they do. All I know is the turner car is gtd and the white (rahal I believe) bmws are the gtlm cars. Gtd probably has a little bit smaller wing and less aero grip but other than that I have no idea.

GTLM (GT Le Mans) they compete both in the World Endurance Championship and also compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans and IMSA races but with IMSA and WEC giving them certain specs to follow so they can compete in both classes. GTD is GT Daytona are the GT cars that compete also in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the rest of the IMSA season following completely different specifications from the GTLM class, less downforce, and lower power specs. GTD has pretty unique racing entries for example; Lexus and Acura.

in the wec lmp2 there is only one engine option,the gibson and the wec lmp2 is designed for privateer not factory team.

"You have to maintain within 10 degrees of ambient temperature" uhhhhm... ****ing WHY IMSA? WHAT PURPOSE DOES THAT RULE POSSIBLY SERVE?! Drivers deserve a nice comfy 70 degree cockpit, not some sweltering 85 degree BS on a hot day or "freezing their nipples" when its cold out. WHY do drivers have to suffer because of some arbitrary rule? COME ON.

Its a Caddi body kit on a Dallara Lmp2 car.

with a caddy motor, proprietary transmission, different springs, struts, brakes, ecu, stability systems, and other things. Pretty much due to the open ended variations on LMP2 regs, it'd be cheaper to buy a new Dallara if to race in WEC or ELMS than to convert between LMP2 and DPi. Even ESM, who's Nissan DPi is the closest to an actual LMP2 car, would need to replace more than half the components to bring it back into LMP2 regulations.

For this year cadalic should tells the teams that you can colour in the rims for example the 31 and the 5 goes for black rims rather than these crap rims .
