This Bi-polar disorder is really on the rise. My cousin was recently diagnosed of that disorder and since we sought expert treatment for her which isn't a one-off treatment but a continuous one, she's doing well now by the Almighty's grace. What I find disheartening is her progress in life that has been stunted since she had her 2nd daughter (since that was when she began having serious mood swings) because we didn't know she was sick. But, I believe the Almighty will restore unto my cousin all the years she lost..

I was diagnosed back in 2013. I didn't know what it was, but I know I would snap out at other people, be depressed and paranoid. I'm taking medication now and I'm able to manage it. Keep living your life with your husband and children. Keep God first and continue taking your medication

Mental illness is a serious problem faced by many around the world. Ironically October 10 is world mental health day. Being pregnant, with hormones out of control may have contributed to the episode. I am so glad the way you are addressing it because many people suffer in silence because of cultural stigmatization. Prayers for you chacha.

Postpartum depression or psychosis is a possibility, but bipolar depression is a no no... May God protect, guard and save you Madam Cha-Cha.

I went into a depression like that before but mine didn't get bad. The only thing is I lost a lot of weight and I can't gain weight back. This happened to me when I had my second child. It was a premature labor and many incidents were involved with this pregnancy. But what caused this depression was when the hospital "claimed" I used the word claimed because I have not known the truth about my daughter the hospital said died because they didn't let me hold, see or even bond with the child. It happened over forty (40) years now at one of the St. Joseph's hospital. I also learned about bipolar depression when I went back to school after my husband divorced me without a cause. Some much to this story. But I know the crazy part for me was, I would not go to that hospital for any reason. I didn't even wanted to pass by that hospital. I got over this depression after many many years past. Now I can go back to the hospital. This happened because of my relationship with God and His mercy towards me. The Holy Ghost even sent me back to the hospital to get information about my daughter because I didn't get anything from them not even a death certificate.

She could get on board and be an ambassador. Bipolar is real. A friend of mine used to call me, saying, I am going to fly whilst on the roof top of one of the tallest buildings in town (how she gets there only she knows)! This always happened when she missed her meds. She used to break up with her partner all the time and I would be caught up in the middle of it...until he understood it was the relapses!

I work in a well known hospital in Florida, and I work in the Mental Health dept and i know for a fact that Dr's always tell the patients what their Diagnosis with and how they will treat them,and set up an treatment plan before they are discharged.
