Aaaaaahahaha! Yooo! Hey I’m a white guy in the US who grew up in a black neighborhood. In 4 grade we new kid in class, him and his family came from Nigeria. We became best friends right away, real best friends, sleepovers, go to each other’s family events. His father JUST LIKE this. This reminds me of him SOOO MUCH, dancing and singing in African, jumping up and down, and BOYYYYY did his parents love them some Jesus.😂 But what really got me was the little tiny things that would irk him. He never got mad that he would yell, he would do this sh**. “I…am..deh.... FAATHAAH!..ehh? You MUST listen to ME!…ehh? 😂 With that Nigerian accent always tryna sound so reasonable yet stern.😅 I love this video. I just found your channel on random. You get a Sub from me.👍

Hahahha as soon as he’s a dad himself all he would remember would be how proud his dad is, how hard he tried for him, was always there to make sure he ate etc and suddenly they’d become best friend, drinking together, going to church together etc. Dad would see him as his “almost” equal 😂😂😂

Nope, that's not the culture. Aging parents are generally respected, treated well, visited often. Used to be like that in the Caribbean too.

😅 - LOL! Nah we had to bring my dad's shoes in when he came home and be quiet while he relaxed after his long day of work. He has multiple adult children that will ensure he dies king of his own home. (this is REAL no lie)

The father could have just made a list of those ingredients he needed for him to cook thst meal and the son must have taken the trouble of checking those supplies every now and then to remind dad to top them up.

Some parents do take advantage of these scriptures for selfish agenda , they use as a tool to get their selfish desires met sometimes they say words like " I'm doing it for you " most parents will take advantage of light hearted children specially financially,they will use you for their own image out there , I work in construction as a laborer my dad took me to the dealership to buy him a car that costed 15k before taxes ( he never worked for 22 years here in Canada) he goes on to say the Lord will bless you , and my mom once called me to tell me that she did business and things didn't go well now she owes 35k and wants me to pay it and the Lord will bless me , some parents abuse light hearted children they will suck you dry soon as you try to say no they start to preach condemnation, they say things like your disrespectful, you make no sense , on and on so being a light hearted is bad in many ways you're taken advantage of alot, and my mom had the audacity to tell me I want you to marry my friends sister ,I like her alot 😅😅😅😅😅 the light hearted child is the sacrificial lamb 😅😅😅😅

Owusu Sr was trying to make his son understand that he must take some inituatives some of the times without him having to pester him to do the things children do spontaneously in Africa. For instance, had Owusu Jr made the habit of checking the supply stocks in the house, he surely could have made a list of supplies to top up. But he didn't. In his old days, Owusu Sr's mother never asked him to do the washing up, clean the compound, or even cook, etc.... So, he expects Owusu Jr to take some initiative to help him with chores around the house rather than him asking, directing, and dictating him what to do. Well, this my understanding of the message Owosu Sr was trying to put across.
