"Kill me or sentence me to death instead of sending me to Rwanda." In his late twenties, Hadi (name changed for his protection) fled Iraq for the UK after he faced persecution for being gay. Under a controversial law, the UK plans to send asylum seekers who arrived illegally on British soil to Rwanda, 6,000 kilometres from London. The East African country is "not a tolerant place for LGBTIQ people" according to Aderonke Apata, director and founder of the NGO 'The African Rainbow Family' which helps LGBT asylum seekers integrate into British society.

I am 15 I'm Rwandan and still in Rwanda and and am an Lgtbq member honestly I wish I wasn't in Rwanda cause of this miserable life for Lgtbq members who lives in Rwanda

Am from rwanda too, there are no law against LGBT, they even organise their own events, the only problem is if you don't live in harmony with the people they can't do the same with you, honestly if you do you without bothering anyone as we all do, you'll be fine...there is no persecution...still the society is not accustomed to this...but safe places exists especially in the entertainment and fashion industry

Your going to make a new life and enrich the Rwandan economy, and skillsets. Your LGBT does not define you. It's not what you are but who you are! The Rwandans, a just and fair people in the main, will judge you on the content of your character

Lol Rwanda over 90 are extreme poverty, the last group of refugees from EU who went there were left with no jobs, no homes and often attacked and sexual assaulted

Yep just that 90% are in extreme poverty and minorities are at risk of assaults and rape. The UK has took over 2000 rwanadans in from lgbt over the past 5 years

@@biggsleezy if we are talking about rwanda, our security is among the best if not the best in africa, you can call the officials/police in your neighborhood.
