Hey guys....changing the In Cab Air Filter in my 2010 Nissan Maxima. Save yourself some MONEY, and do this easy maintenance procedure yourself...THANKS FOR WATCHING;-)

I planned on replacing mine tomorrow and came to YT for some vids. The one I watched before u was pretty good and almost everyone said he had the best explanation, but I have to disagree slightly after watching yours. Only downside was you not installing a new one smh so 9/10 for that. Valvoline charged me $40 a few yrs ago and after seeing how easy it was (and that was via glove box method) I said I'd do it myself next time. Thanks!

Yes thank you, I could kick myself for not actually putting it in on camera, cuz you're not the first one to say it:-) glad it was able to work out for you though cuz it is such a ripoff what they want to charge:-)

I got it in but it was a bch! I broke the clip on the cover but I can buy another on Amazon. Having to install on my back and upside down was quite an experience. Hopefully I’ll sell the car before I ever have to do that again LOL thanks for the vid!!

This was a pain in the but to try to get it in there. Right now I don’t have one in but I’ll put it in tonight. This video should help, mine got so bad it was kicking the ac off. It’s to hot out especially with my maxima being black lol. It’s only been out for a day so I figure that shouldn’t hurt. I hit that slot with my shop vac and a ton more came out.

The design of this cabin air filter is anti human. I think I’ll let professionals to install it for me next time

Couldn't agree with you more Dr. Strange...love the name by the way! of course, I will give Nissan some credit...I have delt with some manufactures that put these things in crazier spots that require a lot of disassembly or body contortion, lo! Thanks for watching, and the comment:-)

The trick is removing it from your back not your knees sounds weird but you get a better grip on your back doing the limbo almost and also remove thenside panel as well

Yeah, couldn't agree more. I'm a little (alright, a lot) bigger than the average bear, and my ribs got totally wiped out while being in contact with the door sill. So then I thought to bring the passenger seat all the way back, and also lowered the back of the seat, put a pillow on the mat, and then laid on my back to yank it out with a pair of needle nose pliers, as I knew I wasn't putting it back so who cares. The ends that had to go in weren't that flexible, so I started with the bottom, and literally jammed in there. In my heart I know that was 1/2 ass, so I'll be taking out the glove box as there's only 8 screws + pop the right trim off, and the whole thing comes out. I'm pretty anal when it comes to doing something the right way vs. just ok.

I just changed mines, and I broke the clip putting it back on lol but I hope I put it in right there's was a bit of a dent in the middle

You never mentioned what direction the arrow is pointing on the filter?!

Great question Richard... Air flows from the front to the back, so you want the arrow pointing at you and if the filter has the arrow pointing up or down, you want it going from top to bottom:-) thank you for bringing this up, and hopefully that helps anybody else trying to do this!

No you don't Kevin...it wouldn't help, and would take a bunch of time. Nissan of course had to make things difficult, but just squeeze new one together with hand, and it will fit, I promise:-)
